How to Minimize the Oversize Spellcheck Menu?

,

Be careful of what you wish for in the Opera Wish-list forum, because you might just get exactly what you requested! Over the years, many Opera users lament over the dialog-base Spellchecker, & mesmerize by the Inline Spellchecker in Firefox 2. Thus, we requested a Fx2-Style-Inline-Spellchecker. Then in Opera 10, we finally got what we asked for... plus an OVERSIZE SPELLCHECK MENU!!! I can't believe this, we have overlooked this tiny little undesirable side effect...

The good news is, we don't have to live with IT. That's right, you can "hack" this OVERSIZE SPELLCHECK MENU down to a more reasonable size, & this is how I did it.

So, here is an old trick I use very often, but forgot to insert into My Opera Notebook... until now! p:

Auto-complete Server Name with Menu Selection

Opera got a handy function called Auto-complete Server Name, which will attempt server name completion by adding prefixes (such as www) and suffixes (com, org, net...etc.). However, it doesn't work as well as desired most of the time, because of it's clunky method of matching each combination of prefixes & suffixes in a hierarchy fashion... Why can't we choose from a list of prefixes & suffixes directly, instead of rely on this unpredictable trial & error process? Well, here is a trick that will allow you to do just that!

Page Bar vs Window Cycle List

,

One mystery I can never figure out about Opera is why both Page bar & Window Cycle List (WCL) are enabled by default? What's the purpose of this setup? I only need the WCL during Full Screen mode (without Page bar), but I don't need it when the Page bar is present in the window mode! So, I came up with a few tricks to enable WCL during Full Screen mode, & disable it quickly during window mode.

Some people group similar website together & save 'em as session, then they can revisit different group of websites separately without the need to keep a lot of inactive tabs opened all the time. Do you wish that you can pick a folder when creating a new note with Copy to note command? Well, currently the Copy to note function (Ctrl+Shift+C) is very limited, & not very intuitive either... So, I decided to improve it to allow folder selection before a note is created! Here is how to do it:
