My Opera Notebook

Those of you who like to use a more advanced Bittorrent Client to handle torrent file usually will run into some problems with Opera. So, I provide a guide to help you get the job done quickly.

1. Go to Preferences(Ctrl+F12) > Advanced > Downloads.

2. Unchecked Hide file types opened with Opera located in the top-right corner of the dialog.

3. Now, input torrent in the Quick find box on the left-side.

4. You should see Application/x-bittorrent - torrent, double-clicked on it.

5a. Change the action to Open with default application, hit OK twice.

5b. OR checked Open with other application + Pass web address directly to application, & hit "Choose" button to pick an appropriate application to handle torrent. Hit OK twice.

NOTE: The application usually located in C:\Program Files\<Application Name>\<Application>.exe

Here is something optional: If Opera still giving you any problem when left-click on a torrent link, you need to disable the build-in BT client.

1. First, go HERE.

2. Then unchecked Enable option to disabled the build-in BT, hit "Save" button.
