Story

I don't even know where to start my story.. Let's see it from the beginning, as I'm trying to recall what had happened in the last several weeks of my life, looking at the photos I took during our long, exhausting, sometimes happy, but usually tragic trip to Greece through Bulgaria, and on the way home through Kerkyra (Corfu) and San Marino. (I'm listening to music at the moment, so it's hard to concentrate.. Gotta wait for some minutes.. P:)

July 2, [...] we got in our large car, a Renault Trafic, and headed towards Greece.. I had to drive from Pécs (our home town) to Tompa (Hungarian-Serbian border).. Everything seemed to be fine, but as the radio signal was getting weaker and weaker, we turned on the CD; first album: Dream Theater - Scenes from a Memory.. That was still OK, but when I heard 'Through Her Eyes', my eyes were full of tears.. Well that sucked a lot.. I got very sad and desperate.. :frown: But 'luckily' it's not such a long song, so I could continue driving..
As we're not sure if I'm allowed to drive abroad, we changed at the border line.. I don't remember who drove the car from there.. But later that day we arrived to Sofia, Bulgaria.
Both Serbia and Bulgaria sucks.. They're dirty, ugly countries full of shit, poor people, donkeys, dirt and trash. We were quite afraid of what our hotel's gonna be like, so we were very surprised when we arrived.. Everything was great, it was very nice and clean!
Next day (July 3) we continued our trip towards our next stop, the Meteoras in Greece (Kalambáka). Greece is also very dirty.. And the traffic.. Gosh, they cannot drive! Three cars in one single lane, they don't care about anyone and anything on the roads! And I had to drive there quite a lot! Anyways, we decided to go to the Olympos, a fucking high mountain with fucking steep roads, and, naturally, the chauffeur was me again! Mom was like dying next to me, so she went sitting on the back seats, but she was in total panic even there.. And we three were laughing at her.. P: And then it even started raining! :D You can't imagine how my mother looked like! :D
Down from the mountain my mom asked dad to drive instead of me, and we also got two more passengers who wanted to go to the city at the foot of the mountain, so mom was much less panicky..
After all those adventures, we headed towards the Meteoras. Those stones look quite nice.. But our hotel was not that comfortable as we expected it to be.. We went on a little sight seeing still that day, and did that the next day (July 4) too.. We visited one of the monasteries too..
Then, we started driving to Vravroná, a city near Athens. We stopped at Thermopyles to take some photos of Leonidas (MADNESS!!), and arrived to our destination later in the evening.
That was also a very nice place, we all liked it a lot..
After some resting, bathing and sunbathing we decided to go to Athens on July 6. We saw some ruins (Parthenon? Or something like that.. But it's still not ready, they're building it ATM.. :-\) and the changing of the guards, after which we went back home (i.e., our hotel) again..
July 9, we went to Marathon, but we couldn't find the site my parents visited 18 years ago..
July 10, last day there, so my parents told me to take some photos of the sea (in which we were once during our stay.. we preferred the pool inside the area of the hotel), which I did gladly, as I like to take photos, and the sea with all its... uhm.. water? :D can be an interesting thing to take photos of.. Some waves might have touched the lower part of my camera, but I didn't really care, as nothing severe happened.. Even the last photo I took near the sea was perfect.. But later that night I just couldn't turn my camera off.. Some salty water got into its remote control jack slot, and kept turning it on.. But that was the smaller problem! All the colors got fucked up! And setting the white balance didn't help much! From that night on, our trip is a catastrophe..
July 11, Khorintos. I took some extreme (since my camera broke down) photos of the strait, after which we headed towars Igoumenitsa, because we wanted to take the ferry that night to Corfu (Kerkyra). But around noon, _EDITED_ after which we got to the port.. /You really can't imagine how hard this day's been for me.. I had to translate for everyone.. [...] I was really near to crying all day long, but I couldn't, because we had to stay strong at that _EDITED_ But we were late by several hours.. So we had to wait quite a lot, and we had to buy new tickets to get to the island, to our hotel (July 12).
Our hotel was not as bad as in Kalambáka, but it was still worse than it should have been..
Our stay in Kerkyra (we lived in the city of Ipsos) was not that bad.. The sunsets were really beautiful! It's a pity my camera went wrong, I could have taken much better photos than I did.. :frown:
July 14, we went to an aquapark.
July 15, we went on a little boat trip.
July 16, we took the ferry from Kerkyra to Bari, Italy. Long journey, sleeping..
July 17, we arrived in Bari, and drove (I drove ca. 400 km, dad the rest) to San Marino, where we planned to stay for one night.. [...] But in the evening we decided to stay for another night..
July 19, some minutes after midnight my dad started to have severe pains.. We wanted to start going home that morning, but instead we went to the hospital at around 4am.. This was the first time I've been in an ambulance.. /I cried that evening.. I just couldn't take it anymore.. That day was the 99th together with my girlfriend, whom I hurt, even though I didn't want to.. And my dad had to stay in the hospital.. It's incredibly hard to stay strong../ Everything seemed to go fine, it seemed like if we could go home July 23.. But that day, still in the night, dad started to have very bad pains again.. He had to be operated still that day - it was a life/death question.. His gall bladder / bile reservoir got very big, and started tearing apart.. The operation went well.. Since that day, I thank God every night for helping us, saving my father's life..
At the moment, we still have to wait some days/weeks to see if everything's fine before we could go home.. So we don't know when and how we'll get home.. It's highly possible that dad will have to take the plane to Budapest and an ambulance would take him home to Pécs, but for now (July 28), nothing's sure..
[...] I hope dad's gonna be fine soon too, and we can go home together.. But that's just a hope, a wish, for now..
I get access to the Internet every two days, so this one's (written on Saturday) gonna be uploaded on Monday.. That's for now, it's 22:40, and I have to be in the hospital at 8:00, so good night for everyone, hold on, keep strong, pray, and be optimistic!!

Update: July 29; sometimes some WiFi signal's coming across the walls.. So I could post this entry today..

Holiday.

The Internet costs €5 for an hour here, so I can't use it regularly.. :frown:
Also check http://www.twitter.com/ebertek/ , it's updated much more often than this blog..
I'll probably write something longer once I have more time for less money on the Internet.. For now: everything's nice here, although it's VERY hot outside..
