T'was the day before independence day . . .
Not much going on today, went in to work, but no meetings, few phonecalls, and a handful of e-mails. Lets me spend time reading through files, etc. to try to learn the organization's context.
I am starting to firm up my travel plans for the next 6 months:
- Poland in mid-August (tentative)
- Oberammergau in early September
- Lisbon in mid-September (tentative)
- Rome in early October (tentative)
- Netherlands also in early October (tentative)
- Poland again in early November
- Norfolk, US in late November/early December (tentative)
- Latina, Italy in mid December
Most of these are just short trips of a couple of days--longest is a work-week, so this shouldn't be too big of a deal. We might well be able to combine some family trips with one or more of these.
I've seen cruise-ships in the harbor before, as well as the large ocean-going ferries (England/Denmark-bound). Today one was leaving and one was coming in, so I got a few shots . . .
