Watched it just now. Not bad for a doomsday movie. The CG was great. I think that's all the strength of the movie. And off course the *humanity* shown by the characters.
Even though most people got entertained, managed to get some good 5-10 minutes zzz.
I think they should show more action especially with the Russian billionaire's voice activated Bentley.
Overall performance was not bad. I'll give 3 out of 5 stars

Just finished reading
THE LAST DAYS OF THE POLYMATH By Edward Carr.
Interesting to know a lot about a lot.
What is a polymath?. Polymath is someone that "have learned much". There's a wikipedia page here
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polymath. Some well known polymath are Leonardo Da Vinci and Benjamin Franklin.
Specialisation is hard on polymaths. Every moment devoted to one area is a moment less to give over to something else. Researchers are focused on narrower areas of work. In the sciences this means that you often need to put together a team to do anything useful. Most scientific papers have more than one author; papers in some disciplines have 20 or 30. Only a fool sets out to cure cancer, Rees says. You need to concentrate on some detail—while remembering the big question you are ultimately trying to answer. “These days”, he says, “no scientist makes a unique contribution.
So do you think you're one of these rare breeds

Watched it recently. Story about a new virtual-real world where humans replace themselves with "Surrogates" to in daily life to minimize crime, death rate, disease, accidents etc. A little bit like the movie Gamer recently on the cinemas.
Although Bruce Willis was great, I think the movie lacks the action needed to justify having a great actor as the hero.
We need bad-ass die-hard actions whenever we hit the cinema for a bit of Bruce Willis.
Overall the movie was great but it's one of those "could've been great" movie.
p/s: 3 out of 5 stars

Small budget film, great CG, great story building, great aliens, great everything.
My take - 10/10.
This is a movie with no big trailers no big promotions (at least not where I'm staying). I only heard about it via trending topics in Twitter and gave it a shot.
With South Africa as the background the creators of the movie sure brought us into a different "Hollywood".
One thing for sure, be prepared to confront the prejudice inside us (yes us as human beings)

10/10 is the conclusion. Now go watch it!

Haven't post for quite some time

So here's for all the time wasted. Watched 3 movies recently, Ice Age 3, Public Enemies, Taking of Pelham 123
Ice Age 3 What can I say? Better than previous movies. This time it's much much more hilarious I think. Can't stop laughing especially when they were trapped in laughing gas place.
How many stars? 4 out of 5 from me. My advice, watch this if you some laughter.
Public EnemiesSo what's good about this movie? Depp playing Dillinger, Tommy guns, the depression, the heroine, modern day Robin Hood like adventures.
So what's bad about this movie? Story line sucks. It's boring, plain simple. The only thing I like is when they started shooting. That's just about it.
My verdict. 2.5 out of 5 stars.
Taking of Pelham 123Now this one movie I enjoyed. The thrills and the talks between Denzel & Travolta. Two great actors. One train. One city. 10 million dollars. 1 hour. 19 passengers. Death & life.
Watch this please
So that's it folks, my own movie review post

This is written while watching Michael Jackson's funeral via satellite TV.
I'm not really a big fan or even a fan at all, but growing from the 80s to the 90s my generation's really influenced by him.
First encountered with MJ was back in the 80s, Pepsi commercials, Bad, the one where he became a werewolf video, The Video Game on Sega oh the 80s was a time of pop.
One of my best friend was a fan. I don't get it, the makeups? the *girly* dances, the feminine look. But I guess this guy did inspired millions of people globally. That we cant deny.
One thing for sure I like is "moonwalking"
Then came the 90s, I think this is when his never never mansion got showed a lot in tv/news. Then the chimpanzee?

and him becoming with Macaulay Culkin (the kid from Home Alone). Pop was not really my favourite during this era. *Seattle grunge rule*
The late 90s till now. Mmm not so good time for MJ I guess. Sexual cases in court, settlements?, bancruptcy, failed marriages, nose fell (Eminem's music video), drugs and so on.
Well the guy's gone now. But looking back 2 and a half decades that I recall, he had inspired millions if not billions.
So this for you MJ, rest in peace
