Edward's Dilemma

My name is Edward and I’m sitting here, pen in hand, wondering what my life would be like a couple of years from now. I’m a high school graduate and never reached college due to financial reasons. I’m currently working as a frontdesk clerk in one of California’s biggest hotels. I have a lovely girlfriend of two years, a dog, and a parakeet. I’m started this blog since I wanted to make my life more systematic and easy to sort out.

Let’s see… as a 24-year old guy, I’ve tried to think about, in no particular order, joining the army, getting back to school and finish college, maybe set up my own business, or get a course in real estate and be a real estate investor. I just have no clue. My girlfriend, on the other hand, is a college graduate and is currently taking her MBA. She’s also working as a store manager at the local Walmart. It’s a good thing she loves me.

I asked her what my plan in life ought to be and she told me that if I want to join the military, it’s perfectly fine with her. I could get to college free after my service and pursue the career I want. But I know, serving for your country may take a long time and I’m just not comfortable with that. Anyway, after all’s been said and done, I’ll be sure to find out anytime in the near future.
