Pat Maginess: Private-Eye

Hard Shelled Detective Fiction by Edward Piercy

Three Albums

, ,

I've been tagged by Star to do one of these
list type things. Normally I don't go in for
that type of thing, but Star has been such a
good sport coming here through the months
and paying me a visit that I want to join in with
her on this one -- with a few modifications.

The assignment was to list your top 3 favorite
albums and your top 3 favorite songs from each
of those albums. For the ones I've picked, naming
my favorite songs didn't seem quite so important.

Except for the Courante. Of that one, I will put
a few things down for the record.

So here they are:

Ah, the Courante of the D minor suite. To me, it is
the ultimate. Over the course of my ill-health since
2005, this movement has come to mean so much to me.
In fact, by the Spring of 2007, when I felt that my
time was pretty much coming to a close, it was the
ONLY music I listened to. It carries both a joy and
a sadness to it -- so all of a piece -- that it seems
to just lift me out from this tiny world and all its
sadnesses and tragedies and into the distant stars and
nebulae. With it, I dance in synch -- step step stop/
step step stop -- with the universe.

If you want to listen to it, it's at the top of my
blog in the P.M.P.I. Theme post.

So there ya go, Star. And thanks.

Classy choices there, Edward. It's amazing how music can become so meaningful.

Maybe someday somebody will write a learned book -- On Meaning -- and tell us all about it!

I couldn't get that link to work, Star. And I couldn't find a blog entry called "must be spring" on your blog. :frown:

Stardancer 17. March 2008, 02:53

That one doesn't work either...

:irked:

It's my most recent blog entry, so you may have to do that refresh thingy again. Opera is having "issues" again.
