Psalm 23 (Sort Of)

Angeliki's recent post on some rather unusual Chinese signs that had
serious translation problems got me to thinking about this piece that
I did a few years ago. So I thought, what the hell, I might as well
post it.
PSALM 23
(translated into English by a Chinese technical writer)
The big person is my watcher, I do not need anything
In green fields of goat he make me sleep
He put me into water that does not move
To me again he gives so I can breathe
He pushes me down the road
So that I can drink his sake
This time I walk at night in the valley
I am afraid there is no good
Something stand near me
Something have sticks and flags
But I get brave and happy
A person invite me to dinner
I am watched by bad people
Now you give me good shampoo
And things you spill out of a cup
Much happiness and joy is behind
Now I am very old
But now with the big person I am living
Maybe for very long time
(January, 2006)
Though I'm not a Christian, I have over the years read the
Psalms. There is some great poetry there, and some wisdom
too.
For my days vanish like smoke
And my bones burn like fire.
