Pat Maginess: Private-Eye

Hard Shelled Detective Fiction by Edward Piercy

I Drove All Night

Eat your heart out Celine Dion!

(And yes, yes, that's all right...
my dearest...my love...)

I remember when I was younger that kind
of passion. Where I couldn't wait one single
minute longer to be with her, hold her, kisses
so deep it was like falling down an elevator
shaft. Lying with her, stroking her hair.
Hours that seemed to stop time altogether.

What has happened to that? It has been ages
since I have felt that. Ages since there has
been someone like that inside my soul. Perhaps,
I thought, such passions are a matter of youth.
But I don't think that is true.

This, I think, is simply an emptying out.
The End of Days. Not getting to someone,
but a time of perpetual good-byes. And
there is nothing sad in that really.

But I must admit, I wouldn't mind experiencing
that kind of passion just once more. Just to
remember what it felt like. Just to drive all
night, the headlights extending out on the road,
the tiredness like an ache, but the love driving
me on, for just that one

kiss.

*sigh*

I'm with you here. I remember when The One And Only and I had been separated as long as three consecutive days. When we were together again - at last - we both cried of joy and of pain at the same time. Joy because we were together now, and pain because we somehow knew this wouldn't last.

*sigh*

great write edward! yes, allan you are so right!

sometimes it isn't the kiss that is as important to me as the smile, the face that lights up, the tears of joy that flow because another is happy to see me . . . . i miss those days too! very much!!!!!!

diamond rio has a song that portrays my deep feelings on this subject -- with a little more time and a few more brain cells, i might be able to find it for you!

awwww , 1bluebox you did it again! inspiring the rest of us,

a kiss,
it doesn't mater if it is a quick kiss,
a long kiss,
a kiss on the eyes,
a kiss on the lips.

a kiss it is an art,
every body that kisses is an artist and
I am dying to be the canvas.

Angeliki, how did you like Wimbleton? I was listening to them talk about it on the news, and they say that the men's final might have been one of the greatest in history.

By edwardpiercy, # 8. July 2008, 01:56:36

it was Ed,
at the point that even the spectators (like McEnroe..had tears in their eyes) Amazing and despite of the interruptions because of rain and the longest in the history of men's tennis, it was the most amazing game that I feel privileged to be able to enjoy!!
thanks for asking.
A life long memory.
I did tape it but I am sure it will be something to talk about for the years to come ..

Ed, I watched the entire match over here on BBC TV.
It was the greatest tennis game in history.
These are not just my words, this is what all the
commentators were saying as the battle played out.
Angeliki's right and she speaks for me when she says
it was the most amazing game that I feel privileged to be able to enjoy!!

I watched Bjorn Borg get beaten by McEnroe (I was a toddler at the time  ) and in context that has always been described as "the greatest game" but now this one between Nadal and Federer has trumped that! These two guys are so magnificent but beacuse of my deep personal affection for Spain I was up there rooting for Nadal and shouting "Vamos Rafa!", yet at the same time I was admiring Federer for all of his magic and skill and half-hoping he would pull it off and break Borg's record. This was truly a sporting match that upheld all the aspirations and principles of the ancient Greece games' tradition

What a day!

Rafa Loku :D

You men that Bjorn actually lost a match? LOL.

I am happy that you both got to see something like that.

Rafa Loku? - Claro!

P.S.
for the non Spanish speaking friends a very general translation....

I asked Loku if his "guns" are as strong as Rafas,
his response was:
I am good as Rafa in tennis but the world did not discovered it yet, as they did not discover Rafa's ability to poetry...

I am always amazed by the strength of a mental muscles...
