Hard Shelled Detective Fiction by Edward Piercy

Happy Thanksgiving (Not Worried At All)

I don't know how prevalent in the world the
celebration of Thanksgiving is, I think it
has more to do with the colony of Jamestown
here in the U.S. But regardless I think that
holidays like this -- or Christmas -- are times
that we especially try to live in peace with
the world and in our hearts for a day.

So to all out there on the web, regardless of
where you live, and especially to all of my Opera
friends here, I wish you a Happy Thanksgiving.
I hope that all your stomachs will be full, that
you'll have some good sports to watch on television,
and that you are surrounded by people who you love.

(Just click on the woman serving the turkey in the
above painting to play a special Thanksgiving song.)

(Please be patient. It will take a minute to upload
to your media player.)

Edward Piercy 27. November 2008, 04:28

Happy turkey day Pam. You gonna cook or go out to eat?

Stardancer 27. November 2008, 05:00

Happy Thanksgiving, Edward! I hope you and your family many wonderful blessings!

Edward Piercy 27. November 2008, 05:04

You too, Star. Kisses from Sasha!

(She chewed up her pillow the other night. I looked over and she had a hole ripped in it and stuffing all over the frigging place. So I gathered up the stuffing and put it back into the pillow and put the pillow in the bedroom where she can't get it. When I get the chance I'll sew the rip up. Bad Dog!)

Everyone had somewhere else to go for turkey dinner so we'll be getting together at my sister's for brunch at 10 am. I'm making breakfast pizza and deviled eggs and everyone else is bringing a fruit salad, orange juice and champagne for mimosas, granola w/ blueberries and not sure what else. It'll be different but fine with me. Plus, we'll probably watch a movie and I think my brother is going to bring Bad Santa with Billy Bob Thornton. I bought a Marie Callendar TV turkey dinner for later.

Edward Piercy 27. November 2008, 06:13

Well I hope you have fun -- with all the mimosas and such.

Give Marie my best!

Allan 27. November 2008, 08:30

Here in my part of the world, thanksgiving isn't celebrated the way I see it done in your part.

But that shouldn't hold me back from wishing you a happy thanksgiving with good sports on the telly anyway.

Cool song, that!

Richard 27. November 2008, 14:55

Edward Piercy 27. November 2008, 23:52

You too, Scott. I guess I don't even have to ask that you are having a good meal today!

Angeliki 28. November 2008, 00:07

 it's OK Ed,
I did not have any in my house either, just because we avoid too fattening pies
the kids are chatting with friends on line, the cats ignore me, my best friend is in Europe, and the family that we usually spend Thanksgiving has a new born baby (11/10 she was born) so Johnny is in the hot tub with me and the bottle of wine you sent me is almost gone! p:

Angeliki 28. November 2008, 00:08

PS kisses to Sasha too! *hugs*
