For me, this is the one. The one with the
long, powerful, heroic pedal point in the
middle of it. A couple of years back, depressed
due to my medical condition, I put on the Bach
cello suites and, when I finally got to this
movement, I felt transformed listening to it.
I still feel that way listening to it.

And here played by Rostopovich as it really
should be played.

It's easy promulgating beauty! :lol:

My own CD set is Yo Yo Ma. Ma is good, but not as good as Rostopovich.

I shall have to listen to this shortly - I'm in the middle of Rachmaninov's Symphonic Dances, and those can't be interrupted. :smile: Splendid post.
