Pat Maginess: Private-Eye

Hard Shelled Detective Fiction by Edward Piercy

Meercat or No Meercat

Models of Deal or No Deal.

This is a little game based up the popular
American television show "Deal or No Deal."

To play the game, write down the numbers
#1 through #10 in a column on a sheet of
paper or a note card or whatever.

Then go to the list of Prizes below and
pick one of them. It doesn't make any
difference which one you choose, just
whatever one you want. Click on the Prize
to see what it is. Then write down the
Prize letter ("Prize C", etc) as #1 on
your list.

Repeat this process until you reach #10.
Be sure to not repeat Prizes -- the list
is to remind you of what you've picked
and what you haven't.

Whatever Prize you pick as #10 will be
your actual prize for the game.

If your #10 pick is a meercat, then you
also win the Grand Prize given in the link
in the Comments section.

Good luck!

(And no cheating with pop-ups!)

if your #10 pick was a meercat, you win the grand prize!

Grand Prize!

L2D2 23. July 2009, 20:46

My prize was the Crown Jewels of England. I think I will stick with that.

Edward Piercy 23. July 2009, 20:50

@ Linda

Ah man, tough luck! LMAO.

L2D2 23. July 2009, 21:11

We have meercats in our zoo, but I missed them last trip.

Edward Piercy 23. July 2009, 21:14

Speaking of which, did you say in some comment or other that you were doing a zoo post? Maybe I misunderstood.

L2D2 23. July 2009, 21:20

And, in fact, I love meerkats. There was a series on Animal Planet recently named Meerkat Manor, which followed a couple or three meerkat families. A wildlife biologist studied these ones for about 10 years and they produced the series from the results of the study. It was fascinating to me. But then, I am an animal nut anyway.

Edward Piercy 23. July 2009, 21:28

When I was a kid we went to the zoo when we lived in San Diego for a while. Simply huge, a 2 or 3 day project to see the whole thing. (We didn't see the entire thing. p: )

I liked the big cats and the flamingos best.

As for the chimps, they were just downright embarrasing.

Darko 23. July 2009, 21:38

I got rusty old freighter :left: Well, maybe I can sell it to waste steel and then buy myself a lot of meercats :D

Edward Piercy 23. July 2009, 21:42

@ Darko.

Well, maybe you could convert it into one of those fried fish and beer places like you visited recently. Except more upscale. p:

Darko 23. July 2009, 21:49

It is too big even for a river like Danube but maybe I could anchor it somewhere on the coast and make a business out of it
:chef:

Edward Piercy 23. July 2009, 21:53

 Yeah, or like in that movie Fitzcaroldo. Just get aa bunch of workers and haul the thing over the mountains.

Darko 23. July 2009, 21:55

:D

Allan 23. July 2009, 22:34

Didn't know what to do tonight anyway. Nice pastime. And a grand prize, too. Thank you so much.

Edward Piercy 23. July 2009, 22:42

Guaranteed to fill up 10 whole minutes!

:D

L2D2 24. July 2009, 00:52

Well, I'm sure it didn't take me THAT long, Edward, even though I had to stop and figure out each time which letter I hadn't used yet! :eyes:

Edward Piercy 24. July 2009, 00:55

Guaranteed to fill up 5 whole minutes!

:D

L2D2 24. July 2009, 01:20

I will go with that. Where is Angeliki I wonder. She has been busy on my blog this week posting sexy pictures of a different sexy man every night. I was using another browser when she posted tonight's and it wouldn't display the pictures, so I am going back home and see what she did for me tonight.

Edward Piercy 24. July 2009, 01:56

Well tell her to drop by. Them meercats won't wait around forever!

L2D2 24. July 2009, 01:59

Ah, you know she will be here sooner or later. She's having fun messing with my libido this week. Muhahahahah

Angeliki 24. July 2009, 02:25

I don't recall seeing the show but my lucky nbr is 8

w00t!
I love my price!

Edward Piercy 24. July 2009, 02:38

When I first started reading that I thought it was Georgetown, Virginia! Whaaa?

Did you go through the series? How long did it take you to get to Prize I? p:

Angeliki 24. July 2009, 02:43

hahahaha I did go with H not I :D

he is not a prize, he is God!

Edward Piercy 24. July 2009, 02:48

I don't think you followed the rules!

Oh well, I figured some wouldn't. In any case some might have or will win Johnny. -- I have to warn you!

Angeliki 24. July 2009, 03:04

he is to be shared Eddie,
to much of a man for one only!
I do not know the game show but I am sure there is a lucky woman that will pick 9 = I

not a big TV fan here :frown:

but I have a picture that you might enjoy :

your prize :

I do not recall if this was the link I gave you in the past,
http://www.hotornot.com/b/Style-g17848816-Redheaded-Women.html

still looking for the one you mentioned the other day

Edward Piercy 24. July 2009, 03:16

Ohhh, that is so nice. I think maybe she needs some study tips from Prof. Piercy.

That's freaky. I was just looking at picks of Julianne Moore and Molly Ringwald

TYVM!

And speaking of hot I am back in the cave but even back here it's like 83 friggin degrees. That's 30 degrees above my preferred temperature. :goingnuts:

Stardancer 24. July 2009, 03:37

I got the Caesar Salad!

Edward Piercy 24. July 2009, 03:42

Way to go Star! That ought to be good on a hot summer night!

Stardancer 24. July 2009, 04:02

Yeah. And then watermelon. And ice cream.

:D

L2D2 24. July 2009, 05:05

Well, I got the crown jewels of England! I am richer than Croesus! King Midas has nothing on me!

Angeliki will, of course, share Johnny with me as she has already given him to me this week.

Star, Caesar Salad is good.

And Edward, I think probably Angeliki cheated, too. I have a feeling rules do not mean that much to her. Hmmmm?

Do you have a weakness for redheads, or just women in general. All the ones you have posted lately have been blondes.

Edward Piercy 24. July 2009, 05:19

Linda I think there's another definition of "crown jewels" that might apply to Johnny. Maybe you can all share the jewels.

RE Angeliki...hmmmmmm.

Well I've always had a thing for reheads but historically I get along best with blondes but the woman I came closest to settling down with was a tall raven. Which goes to show you...something or other. p:

Darko 24. July 2009, 05:35

Angeliki, you and me will have to share that rusty freighter. We will open an restaurant there and everyone could come and have Caesar salad, watermellons, ice creams, fish, beer and a good time. Prof. Piercy will invite some of his blonde/redhead friends and I am sure you will find a way to invite Johnny :D

Edward Piercy 24. July 2009, 05:39

@ Darko

And I think Yanni would make a very stylish waiter at the on-board restaurant.

:D

Edward Piercy 24. July 2009, 05:50

@ Linda

You know with your newfound riches, I think Darko is looking for investors for his freighter resraurant and his Jupiter hydrogen company.

Boy he certainly does seem to have a lot of irons in the fire, yeah?

Darko 24. July 2009, 05:51

Stardancer 24. July 2009, 06:38

I'll pass on the JDepp thing. Not my style.

But a good salad, some watermelon and ice cream, and some good conversation with good friends--now that, I could go for.

:D

L2D2 24. July 2009, 06:41

An entrepreneur for sure. I will be happy to invest in his enterprises, particularly the DarkoHydro.

Yes, the crown jewels and Johnny Depp, that sounds like a shareable situation to me.....

I believe it shows me that you are a well-rounded man with eclectic tastes. :D

Angeliki 24. July 2009, 14:56

Darko funny you mentioned it ,
I was thinking of your post when I won it
and I believe it will be a fine idea! *hugs*

PS

we nn to add deserts,
lots of chocolate

Angeliki 24. July 2009, 14:56

Eddie,

I can share only that much!

*some fantasies are not to be shared * p:

Edward Piercy 24. July 2009, 18:46

@ Linda

"I believe it shows me that you are a well-rounded man with eclectic tastes."

Or a poor unfortunate bastard who never could make up his mind. p:

a meercat!

LOL.

Edward Piercy 24. July 2009, 18:55

@ Star.

I've been into lemonade lately. So friggin cold it will give you a migraine lemonade. I'll have to lay in a new supply come payday.

You know that if you take a soda straw and use it as a pipette and put about 1/4 inch vanilla extract into the lemonade it gives it a satiny smoothness but doesn't cover over the taste of the lemonade. There's a place downtown that serves their lemonade in that form except with slushy ice -- god it's SO good.

:D

Edward Piercy 24. July 2009, 18:58

@ Angeliki.

"*some fantasies are not to be shared *"

*feels suddenly guilty about last night*

L2D2 24. July 2009, 19:08

Hmmmm. Meerkats have really changed since the last one I saw. Is that Julianne Moore?

L2D2 24. July 2009, 19:08

I think Piper Laurie and Arlene Dahl and Rite Hayworth were really beautiful redheads, especially Rita.

Edward Piercy 24. July 2009, 19:25

Yeah, that's Julianne.

My big ones are Julianne, Alicia Witt, Miranda Richardson, Molly Ringwald, Judy Greer, Marg Helgenberger, Renee Olmstead, Erica Leehrsen...and Barbara Babcock was amazing too...Jill St. John, Anne Francis, Tina Louise (who was Ginger on Gilligans island)...

Hell, all of them.

L2D2 24. July 2009, 20:50

To each his own. Most of these ladies are unknown to me, by name anyway. Can't agree with Molly Ringwald. I don't think she is pretty at all, but vive le difference!

Never saw Anne Francis as a redhead---I remember her with blonde hair.

Edward Piercy 24. July 2009, 21:06

She had blonde hair a lot. I think she was probably what they call strawberry blonde.

A lot of actors that women like I don't get it. Like Adrian Brody, evidently he's quite popular. But as you said to each their own.

PainterWoman 24. July 2009, 21:06

Awww Geeeez, why didn't I pick I or D for number 10!

I got a subway token! Phoooey!

Unless Depp is waiting for me on the subway.

Edward Piercy 24. July 2009, 21:10

I was hoping you'd get Yanni! That's why I put him up. Well, one reason.

I'm sure that Johnny and Yanni are on the Magic Subway in the Kingdom of Jewels. You didn't know that's what the token was for, did you?

From little things sometime come great things.

PainterWoman 24. July 2009, 21:12

No I didn't. A two for one token? I'm on my way.

Stardancer 24. July 2009, 22:27

I was always really into Nick Nolte, ever since I first saw him in the miniseries, "Rich Man, Poor Man". Watched his career for years. Damn good actor.

The mug shot kinda killed that infatuation, though.
