Got a nicely printed color postcard this morning
from the Spokane Transit Authority wondering if
we would like to be "part of a dynamic new project
to improve the way people connect to places in
Spokane." And if you did, they gave a number to
call to get an application to sign up for the project.

We accidentally got three postcards. My dog Sasha
showed immediate interest in the postcards, and
since we had an extra one we gave one to her. She
loves to "get mail."

I don't know whether this means Sasha is or
is not interested in the Transit project.

Sasha's 1st Anniversary

,

Today is Sasha's 1st anniversary. She has now
been my little girl for one year.

I love her so much! And we're having a party.
She will get a snack and a new ladybug squeaky toy.

Sasha's 1st Birthday Party

,

Yesterday was my dog Sasha's first birthday. I invited
Charisse and "the girls" -- her dachshunds Annabelle
and Lexie -- over for a birthday party. Charisse brought
Sasha a new toy as a present, a Squeaky Chipmunk. She
also brought some 100 percent natural doggie treats
that Sasha didn't like at all. But all the dogs liked
the cheese cubes that I served. You betcha.

We also had party balloons up, which my mom blew
up herself and tied. Then we both put them together
with string and taped them up.

Linda from upstairs gave her a new purple squeaky bone.
Unfortunately, Linda couldn't make it. Me and my mom
gave Sasha a new Sqeaky Piggie to replace the old one
which is on its last days.

The party was scheduled for 3:00. Beforehand I gave
Sasha a good brushing and she was looking very beautiful
and shiny for her party. Charisse and the girls arrived
almost exactly on time. Annabelle mostly just laid on
the couch, whereas Lexie took a liking to Sasha's
old Squeaky Fuzzy Bone and tried her best to rip the
thing apart. As for Sasha she was very excited not to
say manic throughout the event. At one point she did
a little bit of wrestling with Charisse and the rest
of the time just ran around all over the couch and
loveseat with her new Squeaky Chipmunk. Towards the
end we sang Happy Birthday to her.

Dealing with 3 dachshunds is quite the challenge. And
afterward I was exhausted and definitely needed lunch
and then a good nap.

I apologize for the crappy photos. Taking decent
pictures of constantly moving dogs and people really
requires a good DSLR where you can set Shutter Priority
to a fast shutter. So pretty much all the pictures are
blurry. And in fact the only one that didn't come out
blurry, by sheer coincidence, was one that I took with
my cell phone camera.

It's hard to believe my little girl is 1 year old
already. It seems like only yesterday I was taking
her home, so tiny and hugging my shoulder.

The only halfway decent picture of Sasha I got
on her birthday, taken just before the party.

Charisse and Annabelle.

Lexie.

The birthday presents, l. to r.,
Squeaky Chipmunk, Purple Bone, and
Squeaky Piggie #3.

Crazy / Beautiful

,

Sasha, taken with my phone camera.
Pretty girl!

I don't want to bore or perhaps even frustrate
anybody, but some 3rd party seriously needs to
develop a new Device/Computer interface for the
Blackberry. Because Blackberry's Desktop Manager
is totally f***ked. It took me 30 minutes to get
this photo from my BB to my laptop, and in the
end the only way I could do it was to e-mail the
photo to myself from the phone and then go to my
mail account from the laptop and copy it from there.

And in related news, it seems that any type of
mobloging for a post involving pictures from my
phone is impossible. I tried it seven ways from
Sunday and even got some help from Furie, but it
just won't do it. My phone and Opera Mini just
aren't working together properly as far as
uploading images. Now I wouldn't be doing that
type of thing very often anyway; but it would
be nice to know that it is there if I want it.
But it isn't.

Father's Day With Sasha

,

My little girl Sasha and me on our
first Father's Day together.

I love you my little girl!

(My thanks to Charisse, owner of two dachshunds
herself, for help with the photo.)

Attack of the Sugar Crazed Dashshund

The other night my little dog Sasha, totally high
on Little Debbie's Honey Buns, started biting my
hands. She hadn't done that since she was a puppie
cutting teeth. I got out the rolled up newspaper
and pointed it at her to correct her. "Don't make
me use this rolled up newspaper!" I told her. Her
eyes widened and she calmed down a bit. And then
about a minute later was up trying to bite my
hands again.

After that she went and got both her Squeaky Fuzzy
Bone and her Squeaky Piggie and wanted to play.
For like two solid hours.

No more sugar for Sasha! No way!

More Sasha

I just can't resist putting up photos of my
beautiful little girl Sasha. She certainly
looks long in this one. I guess I should
have shot in 16:9 format!

She has this thing where she puts her back
legs straight out behind her. I'm thinking
that maybe is a female dog thing to do, as
my former male dog Baron never did it.

Sasha Ten Months

Sasha is almost ten months old now and is looking
less like a puppy and more like a mature dachshund.

I had to put my hand in front of her for the photo,
otherwise she tends to lunge at the camera and try
to give it kisses.
