Pat Maginess: Private-Eye

Hard Shelled Detective Fiction by Edward Piercy

Dinner

Made dinner yesterday -- fried eggplant.
Also experimented with a tomato, green pepper
and cheese casserole that was pretty much a
spontaneous idea of mine to get rid of a green
pepper that needed to be used. And it turned
out great.

Well all I can get so far is a thumbnail of the photo. Sorry.

I'll keep working on it.

L2D2 22. September 2009, 23:22

Saw full size at that link Edward. Looks good, although I need some meat to go along with it. Yep, I am a carnivore.

edwardpiercy 22. September 2009, 23:34

I can understand that given that I am also a consumer of animals. p: I just ate a sloppy joe sandwich in fact to make up for the meat I didn't eat yesterday.

Sometimes though I like to just forget about the meat for a dinner or two. Vegetables just taste better to me sometimes.

L2D2 22. September 2009, 23:40

The time I like all vegetable meal is when you can gather the vegetables from a garden and have them fresh. I particularly love a meal composed of fresh cottage-fried potatoes, speckled butter beans, fried squash and homegrown tomato with cornbread. Yummy.

L2D2 22. September 2009, 23:41

or stewed squash and fresh breaded and fried okra.

Making myself hungry here.

@ Linda

Umm. That reminds me that we are getting into the really good squash season here. I like that acorn squash best. With lots of real butter -- heaven to the taste buds.

@ Angeliki

w00t! Thanks for the link. I tried for 30 minutwes to try to get the Twitpic image to embed and the best I could come up with was the thumbnail version.

You are welcome to visit -- but stay out of my kitchen! p:

PS
you are always welcome,
just feel free to erase the picture from my comment after you get the link,
the focus should be only in your post and not in my comment,
UNLESS it is Johnny , then it better stay!

Love ya!

Stardancer 23. September 2009, 00:57

Hmm. No pictures, no links in this post or its comments. And that eggplant dinner with the cheese and veggie casserole sounded yummy, too.

:D

PainterWoman 23. September 2009, 01:10

Anything with tomatoes, eggplant and green peppers sounds good to me.

edwardpiercy 23. September 2009, 01:23

@ Star

Well crap. Everything looked good with the pic and then I take a little nap and everything goes to hell.

I went back to the textlink idea if you want to check it out. Assuming that is working five minutes from now too.

I don't think I'm going to be able to continue working this way till November. I really don't.

@ Angeliki

As I remember it, you had the loveseat and I had the couch. p:

edwardpiercy 23. September 2009, 01:25

@ Pam

It was really good -- too bad I don't have a Star Trek transporter to share with everybody!

darn it! you win again! p:

Stardancer 23. September 2009, 02:43

That does look good!

I've just been eating peanut butter today. Can't even taste it. But it's protein.

:D

gdare 23. September 2009, 04:55

That meal looks good and I bet the taste was even better. I ate eggplant only once or twice this summer, my mom and aunt were forcing zucchini, I guess it was because my grandpa like them more than egglant.
:chef:

edwardpiercy 23. September 2009, 05:25

@ Angeliki

We'll discuss the top/bottom bunkbed problem later. p:

@ Darko

I guess you can fry up zucchini too but I've never done it.

@ Star

Peanut butter is a great energy source. And a lot of times just very convenient to make too. Especially late at night more as a snack.

gdare 23. September 2009, 05:32

They are excellent :up

edwardpiercy 23. September 2009, 05:47

:D

ricewood 23. September 2009, 07:13

It's strange how I always need inspiration from others before I begin making eggplant food. But right after work today, I will buy two eggplants and become a copycat.

edwardpiercy 23. September 2009, 12:42

Allan, you know it is actually that great week-long holiday known in France as Avoir Aubergine.

p:

ricewood 23. September 2009, 13:38

As long as it's not au revoir aubergine..

edwardpiercy 23. September 2009, 13:50

Sounds like a good movie title!
