Eko and Friends

Just wandering around on Internet looking for popular Network Monitoring System (NMS). I've come across with several choices, but I have interested in Hyperic HQ. Hyperic in their site claim that their application have been monitoring the world's largest web application, complete with the third party images.

Some of Hyperic capabilities in management functions for software and network resourses, include HQ Agent auto-discover, HQ Agents collect metrics that reflect availability, performance, utilization, and throughput, remote control and administration of software resources, alerts.

I've downloaded Hyperic HQ from their site, but haven't figure it out where I can test the application. I'll update the blog about Hyperic HQ after I try it out.

Probably you can make some recommendations about NMS product that you have been managing, since I'm new with NMS.
