Roces, Girlfriend, Rollerskating
Last month, I started roller-skating.
After easter I had a lot of freetime, so I bought a new rollerskate a Roces S101 and I learnded it... It isn't very hard to go with them, and it is a very good feeling. Roller skating has an own style, an own feeling I think. Unfortunately after some hours rollerskating practice I had usually leg-ache, so I had to rest a mounth,
but now it's better.
Now, I'm waiting form my girlfiriend,
she comes to me for dinner.
I made a salad with tunafish and tomato 
but she is late (as normally:faint: ) ...
So now I have time for blogging.
And, I started a new poll, please vote, it is interesting for me...

A blogger in Hungary wrote in september 2006, that Unix has'nt any chance for the future. He wrote, that he used Fedora linux, but he has tried the new window$ vi$ta, and it is so cool.... okay, so he has enough money for buy the newest pc for running the newest windows... he has the best graphic card for aero and directx10, he has the fastest processor for this mammoth OS...
Unix has'nt future... I have a Compaq Deskpro, Pentium III. 256MB RAM, and a nVidia GeForce4 MX 440 Video Card from 2002. It isn't wrong, but old... I'm using Ubuntu Linux, and I installed Beryl window designer. It's much better than Vista's aero... transparent windows, 3D window handling, and the cube... there is more desktops in linux, and all of your desktops are sides of a cube, and you can rotate this cube in 3D.
Microsoft has'nt future!
I hate that I have to buy all of my programs, I hate if my OS has a lot of backdoors for the software-vendors, and for viruses. I hate that Microsoft's programs are slow, I hate that Bill Gates will be the biggest on the software-world, but he sells the wrongest products of the world.
Switch to ubuntu!
The French Parliament already switched to Kubuntu...
Peugeot uses linux too...

Resurrection, Synaptosome, Tihany, Easter
Wednesday... it was the national student science competition. I showed my presentation in the biochemistry-bioinformatics-cellbiology-immunology section. I spoke about reactive oxygen species release in synaptosomes. (synaptosomes are isolated nerve terminals, they are little cell-models. You can see it on the first picture: these is a synaptosome including a mitochondria. The picture is taken with electronmicroscope).
I jitterd, so I spoke a little difficult, and the others where very good, so I didn't won anything. 
But, it is a big success to win the competition on my university and present my researches here...
For eastern I was with my family in Tihany. It is a little town in Hungary, on a peninsula in the Balaton. There where my cousins too, it was great.
I made a lot of nature-photos, if I have time I will scan they and begin a photo album here at the community.
These easter was very good for me, it was a spiritual experience and relaxing too... I have so many time for my family rarely

Sun, Solaris
These week, on monday I received my
Solaris Media Kit. On tuesday, I installed my new OS. It was long but it wasn't too difficult. I read a lot about Solaris, and I found interesting the 10 new features... I recieved a T-shirt too, with the text:
"It is a good feeling to go 10 steps ahead of everybody" It is difficult to use it, becouse it has a lot of new features for me, but from the documentations I can learn all... (hopefully
)
So now, I'm using only open source programs: Ubuntu on my laptop, and Solaris on my desktop.
Good bye Mr. Gates, good bye Micro$oft...

squash, flash, opera, Ubuntu
...
I have a problem with Opera 
. I'm using it on Ubuntu Linux and XP too, and on Ubuntu I can't play flash movies, altough it works well in Firefox. I installed Adobe Flash Player Plugin from Adobe's website, and nothing happend...
And, yesterday, I tried squash with my girlfriend. It was super!! I never played squash or tennis, but these year, we decided to sport something, becouse always working drove us crazy 
so we tried it, and it was fine, we where tired, but, we felt well... for second time, next wednesday

Compaq Armada, Betlehem-abbey, Portglenone, Ubuntu
Last week, my brother Thomas come home from Ireland. He was there trough five months. (He comes home only for christmas) He lived in a monastery in Portglenone. He speaks very good english and become an other man, I think... It is hard for him to get acclimatized in these crazy world after the abbey, I can understand it... but we are happy to see him after a half year.
One of his friends gave him two old laptops. In these case "old" is a P3 700 Mhz Compaq Armada. I founded it enough for a lot of activities. And, he gives me one of them. I installed Ubuntu Linux 6.10, I wanted to try an alternative OS, and I found it very good...
Many people says, that OK linux is better but I haven't time to learn it, I'm not a programmer, I can't use...
But it isn't true: it starts with a live CD, I could try it before install it, and after that, it was very fast and nice and simple. And It speaks hungarian so linux conquerd me and after a part of my family too, so my sister and brother want to use linux too . After installation all the features of my computer works very nice, I have a word processor, net-browser, (ok, I had to install Opera myself).

Yesterday, I received from my friend the film "An inconvenient truth" by Al Gore. It's a shockin' film about global warming, environment-pollution etc.

ghymes, mitochondria, amaya, neuroscience
On the university, there was a student science competition last week. I made a presentation too, I spoke about mitochondiral reactive oxygen species production in isolated nerve terminals.
It was very successful: I won the competition in neuroscience cathegory, so in april I have to go, to the national medicine-science student competition. yesss...
Now, I have to got ready for that: read a lot of article in various science journals, make some experiments, and learn a lot, it isn't easy. Big work, but interesting, I like it...
Today, I have birthday . I'm 23. I got a book about php, (I want to make a forum site on my homepage,) and, I got two tickets for the concert of my favorit music-group: Ghymes.
And, at last, my girlfriend came home from Netherlands, She want to give me something on wednesday I think... She was there with firends, for two long week... ouh.I tried W3C ORG's open source web design application: Amaya. I found it great, I hope in a month you can visit my new site...
