Kama Sutra

One thousand years ago in the northern region of central India, the kings of the Chandela dynasty built their capital city, Khajuraho. Eighty-five temples were erected, twenty of which remain standing today. Each is a unique marvel of Hindu architecture and sculpture.

The carved stones of the temple walls frequently depict human bodies united carnally in a celebration of eternal felicity, a symbolic form of union with the gods. Every year, thousands of pilgrims converge on the temples to celebrate the nuptial night of Shiva with the goddess Parvati. I hope one day you see it in person!
Here are some photos I love....

Kamasutra inspired musicians:

even geeks enjoy Kamasutra:

Kamasutra makes some people act like rabbits:

You might toss a dice before you try it...

what ever the outcome of the dice is,
make it safe :

and if it doesn't work for you.... that will be fine ,you are not the only one!!

I have that book somewhere in a shelf....
At first I thought it is some kind of "manual" for sex positions and pleasure but there is more of the everyday philosophy and religion behind it.

Allan 14. June 2009, 06:48

I think I was 13 when I first heard about this book. And I still haven't come around to read it. That's procrastination for you!

For the culturally less aware reader:
http://www.spaceandmotion.com/kamasutra-pictures.htm
where you find some original texts... (a.o.)

In fact the Kamasutra was the predecessor of the Ολυμπιακοί Αγώνες !
http://pa.photoshelter.com/gallery/2005-Nude-Olympics/G0000uUYahb_9evc/

When I see all this I think of my backache, the expression "tongue in cheek", desperate women doing Yoga, and puberal youngster asking their parents "what you're doing?" when unexpectedly entering their bedrooms and mature people like us imagining how our parents still do sex...

Twister

Twister is played on a large plastic mat that is spread on the floor or ground. The mat is like a board game. It has four rows of large colored circles on it with a different color in each row: red, yellow, blue, and green. A spinner is attached to a square board and serves as a die for the game. The spinner is divided into four labeled sections: right foot, left foot, right hand, and left hand. Each of those four sections is divided into the four colors (red, yellow, blue, and green). After spinning, the combination is called (example: right hand yellow) and players must move their matching hand or foot to a dot of the correct color. In a two-player game, no two people can have a hand or foot on the same circle—rules are different for more people. Due to the scarcity of colored circles, players will often be required to put themselves in unlikely or precarious positions, eventually causing someone to fall. A person is eliminated when they fall or when their elbow or knee touches the mat. There is no limit to how many can play at once, but more than four is a tight fit.

Dr. John v. Kampen 14. June 2009, 10:06

Very precarious, Martin...

Homer: Doh!

Dr. John v. Kampen 14. June 2009, 10:11

kama sutra and kamashastra for the indians but have you read "the perfumed garden"

"When a meritorious man finds himself near to women, his

member grows, gets strong, vigorous and hard; he is not

quick to discharge, and after the trembling caused by the

emission of the sperm, he is soon stiff again.

Such a man is liked and appreciated by women; this is

because the woman loves the man only for the sake of coition.

His member should, therefore, be of ample dimensions and

length. Such a man ought to be broad in the chest, and heavy

in the crupper; he should know how to regulate his emission,

and be ready as to erection; his member should reach to the

end of the canal of the female, and completely fill the same in

all its parts. Such an one will be well beloved by women, for,

as the poet says....

BTW A. in India there is also a temple complex at Elora which I think has about twenty or so tmples. Unlike the temples here the Elora complex did not consist of standing structures but were hewn out of solid rock (a cave type thing).
