Merry Christmas

Peace on Earth!

Lets Reduce the World Population to 100 !

With the World population close to 7 billion people,
http://www.census.gov/main/www/popclock.html
it is hard to know of how many are in poverty,
how many hurt, how many are educated and how many are not!
statistics can go only that far...
What about if the World population was reduced to 100?
How our World will look like?
Have you ever thought of it?
Enjoy this video and please care! Care for the ones that are not as
fortunate as you are.Help and care !

Amazing video

It has not been like that in millions of years, having 100 people would be hard. It is very hard to figure out how we were able to survive in such number for millions of years.

They have found partical fossils that are older than ARDI (4.4 million years ago is ARDI) the older one is 5.7 million years ago so amazing

It gives completely different perspective about a world we are living in...

Dr. John v. Kampen 13. October 2009, 05:11

Well, mind you: it's a nice numbers game this sort of videos, there are many more around. At the same time horribly misleading! IF the proportion remained the same, THEN the world should look like.... nonsense for obvious reasons! Nobody knows the proportions in the first place. They are completely and utterly unknown and target of propaganda. We have a strongly declining Western population, denied by power-hungry governments but seen in shop turn-overs, declining revenues of everything everywhere etc. No, that is the 'economic crisis', ooh is it? Europe must import people from non-Christian countries to simply survive...! So many Christians are left on the planet, the bulk living in the USA. There are 14% of people not able to read - my likewise guess: 20+%, most of which in Western countries, like Spain, UK, Holland and the USA. I can go on forever on this theme, and you know that, Angeliki. And I haven't counted 7 billion people, most of them having 2 or more "Wohnsitze" on this planet, like Ramona who lives and in Germany and in Spain! So, let's cut that number with 15% to stay in realistic proportions: 5.5 billion on the planet, place enough for another 5, as well as food enough, most of which already thrown away as junk or for the pigs...
:D  p:

Stardancer 13. October 2009, 05:16

Interesting video, Angeliki.

Jurjen 13. October 2009, 05:21

I kind of like these number things, maybe they are not very accurate, its a good thing to see things relative. I mean how many people in western countries claiming they have it really hard and are really poor. And I'm not saying they have it very well, but still they are part of the richest in the world.

Don't come with the BS you cannot compare! I really hate that, as if people in other places of the world are not equal to us!

Dr. John v. Kampen 13. October 2009, 05:27

@jurjen: I fear the day we meet aliens from other planets...
"as if people in other places of the world are not equal to us"
Question: are "us" equal to (in the view of) people in other places?
Isn't "us" the pretence and mistake "we" make on viewing and even worse: reserving this world for our-selves? We can't learn, it appears.

I saw this some time ago, and it's got some important aspects.

Oh, well, off to work I suppose. ~: )

I am thinking that I want to be one of the three persons with Internet.

Allan 13. October 2009, 10:11

Even though the numbers may be incorrect in some respect, this does put things in a perspective.

The info must be somewhat old - since it's about a year ago that urban population grew over 50%. In the video it says 47%.

That 6% own 59% of the wealth is mind-bugling indeed. Never mind in what way wealth is measured.

Olga 13. October 2009, 12:09

so nice and sad video...
makes ppl to think and care of others...

PainterWoman 13. October 2009, 14:20

The video was sad but I love the song. First time I heard it was when Adam Lambert chose it to sing on American Idol.

starree 13. October 2009, 16:17

oh I like this! especially in a time when it's easy to wallow on my own self pity. Great post and good reminder that the world is bigger than us and our petty problems!

Angeliki 13. October 2009, 19:31

:o:  thanks all,

I will be back to respond to all soon (after 2 hours or so, when I am done with work).I love your comments  please keep them coming

Dr. John v. Kampen 13. October 2009, 19:50

In the meantime I stay on my tiny 'planet' where time has taken a different course and smile about statistics, guesswork and opinions. From here 'Earth' is a strange place indeed...

very much the same in the USA. There are members here begging for money and they live in places with gyms and tanning rooms... poverty is translated so differently by many :frown:

Absolutely and rather poorly done... But what has this to do with rich and poor? Those were the search words? Then that turned up! This too: and I am not putting you on! See here. Search engines--- humm, they deteriorate gradually.
