Merry Christmas

Peace on Earth!

Meet Emily

I was watching a commercial the other day,
and I said: "hmmmmm I like this new face,
who is this actor?"
my girlfriend Nadya smiled and said:
"it is not a real person, she is animated !"

I was amazed !She was "almost" real!!!

Animation is
taking a whole new face now days, no?

In this video is an animated girl called Emily,
I will leave it to the video to fill the blanks! Enjoy!
(just notice there are two of them, each one unique!)

You are welcome.

Darko 22. August 2009, 05:51

There is something in her facial expression that looks "suspicious" but this is for sure the best 3D animation I have ever seen. I am trying to remember a movie I have seen few years ago, made completely that way.

Allan 22. August 2009, 07:29

I think she is slightly eerie

Jurjen 22. August 2009, 07:36

Yes it is very good! I love to see all these 3d artworks, its amazing software that renders these things so damn well. Most things you see nowadays in special effects in movies is just completely computer rendered, you'll can't even tell

Very cool but freaky at the same time.

Has there ever been a movie made about someone talking to another person via web cam and one of them wasn't real but the real person didn't know it and the real person falls in love with the animated one and wants to meet? A bunch of different scenarios are developing in my head.

so now they are cloning images of people as true as life. this could lead to some skullduggery. :yikes:

so far i don't think they can generate new movements though... but just wait. soon they will have a cyberclone who looks like anyone, with their voice and mannerisms.

it is fascinating, no?

I did see a similar one on CNN,
on election night with Wolf Blitzer,
very cool

Dr. John v. Kampen 22. August 2009, 22:39

Ever seen movies from 'Osama'? ...
:yikes: p:

Angeliki 23. August 2009, 01:04

"Ever seen movies from 'Osama'? ..."

oh you are precious! p:

yes ,

but I think despite of the stupidity of the experts in many cases,
they will be able to see the real from animation :D

Edward Piercy 23. August 2009, 01:46

Hmmm. You know not that Emily is bad looking or anything, but why didn't they make her look like Scarlett Johannson?

You wonder if 10 years from now they will even bother paying saleries for actors and actresses. They'll just do this kind of thing for much cheaper and have people do voice-overs. Now I think that kind of idea is scary.

scott cumming 23. August 2009, 03:06

i will boycott them. then they will bo out of business.

Edward Piercy 23. August 2009, 03:12

That could be, Scott. Maybe the public wouldn't let them get away with it.

do you remember the telephone operators?
they were people's favorites... they all were replaced by robot operators...

I miss "Mad Men" eddie when is coming back????

I believe many will!
the preformance will be always the tricky part!

Angeliki 23. August 2009, 04:07

Eddie this photo for you:

Angeliki 23. August 2009, 04:09

and this for the ladies that might enjoy "Mad Men" too :

Edward Piercy 23. August 2009, 04:28

Oh ah!

Seems you've been collecting photos.

I don't know about the show as I dont get that channel -- HBO.

Angeliki 23. August 2009, 04:40

I just posted on phones,
this comment was the starting point!

no I do not collect any photos,
you can find plenty here:

Angeliki 23. August 2009, 04:41

it was on AMC did HBO take over?
I thought they come back on AMC at the end of September

Kitty 23. August 2009, 05:51

They've come a real long way in this, I'm impressed. It's really good!

Dr. John v. Kampen 23. August 2009, 13:23

It is an achievement in animation. But a hell of a work!

:ko:

Jurjen 23. August 2009, 14:22

I do wonder if this is really cheaper then renting real actors... Of course you can use film techniques and special effects that where not possible before.

Angeliki: the love is mutual!

Edward Piercy 23. August 2009, 16:29

Well some of these stars make 10 million to 50 million per movie. And each cast member of "Friends" was making 1 million per episode there at the end, that's 6 x 1 million x around 30 episodes.
Probably cheaper.

But after thinking about it I have to go with Scott. Actors and actresses are like our royalty here, and people want to see them at the red carpet premiers and find out who they're dating etc. Can't do that kind of stuff with animated celebs.

when money is involved I think the Industries will brain wash many to adore "reality show celebs" instead! It happens already...

It might not very cheap , money will go to different pockets for sure!

and this for you :

Edward Piercy 23. August 2009, 16:46

Well, that very well could be true. Depends on how willing we "sheeple" (got that phrase over on Star's blog) are to go along with it.

Maybe the whole movie industry will simply become a video game like Linda's Farmtown -- except HollywoodTown.

"Gee, I wonder who the animated Russle Crowe will get into a fight with this week?"

I hate to think we are very "sheepie" but it is proven over the years we are.... from following fashion, phrases, buying gadgets that we do not even use...we are "what monkey sees, monkey does"

Edward Piercy 23. August 2009, 17:02

Power to the sheeple!
