Dell does have a great customer support

The screen of my d610 went blank over the weekend. The laptop does work with an external lcd. Today I called dell gold support at 18668763355 and had a bit of fun. I got to disassemble the laptop under the guidance of a tech... Who was nice enough to answer my questions and feed my curiosity on what is what under the keyboard. Not that its too hard to figure it out anyway.

Did you know that if you hold fn key while powering your dell laptop it will go into self test mode? Mine started beeping. Have I had a working screen it would have been more interesting.

A new motherboard and a new screen are coming tomorrow... On site with a tech to swap them. The motherboard will be replaced just in case. Isn't that great support?
