About me

andropause Male menopause may sound like a gimmick, but it exists. Named 'andropause,' it is caused by a decrease in testosterone levels in men, just like menopause is caused by a decrease in estrogen and progesterone levels in women. Andropause is caused by low testosterone levels in men. Testosterone levels reach a peak when men are around 15 to 18 years old, and then begin to decline after age 25 - 27. Around the age of 35, most men notice the symptoms of andropause to some extent.

Andropause is a condition that usually develops in guys between the ages of 40 to 55. Testosterone levels start to drop, usually gradually, however, it can leave us feeling like a crazy man. It can cause changes in our attitudes, moods and demeanors, and leave us feeling fatigued. Often times, there will be a loss of energy, sex drive, and physical stamina or agility. Hmmm...Just what we need, right? Well, don't start cursing just yet, there are some options as far as andropause treatments and how to deal with it.
