Sleeping beauty

One of my FEW random iTunes song blogs
I am NOT going to start blogging every day about some random song. i just felt like it right now.
So: Tchaikovsky: Sleeping Beauty Waltz
I suddenly recognised the melody, from some disney movie from my childhood, long long ago..
I had no Idea what movie it was, but it sounded princessy, and when I pressed F12 this was confirmed. Sleeping Beauty.
I don't remember the story. But I do remember the beginning. A princess is born. And she is so beautiful that everyone want to see her. So the King and Queen invite everybody in the whole country to her christening. Except this evil lady. I think she's some kind of relative. Anyway she mighty jealous, and when she's not invited she gets even more jealous. So she goes anyway, and she casts this evil spell on the princess that says that when she's 15 she's gonna prick her finger on this sinning wheel and DIE. Oh, yeah, I forgot to tell you, the evil lady, she is a witch. so she can do evil magic.
Now, the cute little princess, she has three fairy godmothers, and they are good little witches like Hermione. And when they hear this horrible thing, they can't stop it, but one of them has one gift left to grant the princess I believe. And she makes this the fact that NO she will not die. She will only fall asleep. And then she will stay asleep until someone wakes her. Well, not just any someone. Her TRUE LOVE, of all things. And then some years pass. 15, to be exact. In the meantime, the King and Queen have ordered all the spinning wheels in the whole country to be destroyed.
And I ask myself what IS he trying to to this country's economy??? I mean, cloth and thread and stuff was probably their biggest export! Now they will make no money, and lots of people will starve because of this one princess! But anyway, that is OK 'cause she is very beautiful. She was born at dawn, by the way.
So anyway, when she's 15, she pricks her finger (the evil witch made a spinning wheel just for her) and falls into a deep deep sleep. And then many years pass. I have NO idea how many. Then this handsome prince comes and kisses her and she wakes up. And then I don't remember any more. But it's not the end, I'm sure. I think she moves into a cottage in the woods, with her three fairy godmothers. And I remember them baking a huge cake for her. It turned out really ugly without magic. I don't know why they were not allowed to use magic. AHA she's a muggle. There it is. Anyway. Actually, I think all of this cottage stuff happened BEFORE she pricked her finger.
So, I don't remember any more. So I spent three second and three more seconds to wiki it, and now the story goes on:
She had two kids, the sun and the moon, and then she moved into a secluded house in the woods (so I guess it WAS afterwards) and she doesn't live with the prince because he went to war. Apparently he's a great warrior. Anyway, the evil witch (which is the queen in this version, but I'll just call her witch) wants them (Princess+kids) dead, and she's a cannibal so she wants to eat them, too. Then this nice cook-man saves them all, 'cause she witch trusts him to kill the right people, but he's not loyal to her, 'cause he's a good guy. So he kills animals instead, and she doesn't taste the difference so she can't be a very experienced cannibal. Anyway, she discovers that he's done it anyway, and she is about to kill the poor Princess with snakes and stuff, when the warrior prince comes home and then she's so ashamed ('cause she's his mom in this story, remember) so she jumps in with the snakes and kills herself instead. And the Princess (her name is Aurora, by the way) and the handsome Prince live happily ever after with their two kids.
THE END

I remember something with lava. On a mountain. And that all the people in the castle also went to sleep. Don't remember the rest.

Apparently, Freudians hava analyzed this whole thing a LOT phychologically. Like in Kiss of the Spiderwomanish style. About the latent sexuality of woman who don't work but just stay at home or somehting.
HAHAAAAA there is something to tell Ragnhild! This story, that has the happiest ending possible, is/was being analyzed by freudians psychologists! Moohahahaha! They CAN be good, and meaningful, and everything!
Anyway, I like the story. And the music is great.
