So, I am one of the few who has not migrated. Opera has brought me a lot of laughter, tears, hours of wasting my not-so-valuable time, and I am not running away from it just yet. Plus I se no need for anything else, although it may not look so stylish, I am more concerned with what it says than how it looks like. Now, about what it says: I guess I don't write that much anymore - I find that i work pretty much all the time - but recent events have piled up so that it is time you all knew a bit of what has been going on in my life the past week
For those of you who did not know, we have a pilgrim over. He is walking to Trondheim. Not for any religious reasons, he is not religious. He is doing it "because it's there". So why not. He does mountains as well. Next year he has plans for Mt. Everest. He likes Coca Cola, and helping Dad on the farm. They cut down the huge birch that was outside our house next to our garage. Bit sad. My favorite tree... wellwell. It could have fallen over soon. And I will have lots of wood for making stuff
So, last Friday, I found out I got on the waiting list for Wesleyan. Which was a relief cause they had the wrong subjects so I really should not go there
Kind of annoying to be almost good enough for them though.
Last Friday I also got the flu, and it progressed the complete opposite way of what I thought it would: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday; Bad fever. Monday, less fever but a really annoying cough. Tuesday, Wednesday, fever gets better, cough gets worse, Thursday almost all gone. Interesting. Apparently I have not had a fever since I was 10, so I think that was about time
Driving lessons same old, except now I realize I have like 3 more before my summer starts. And that I will not way manage to learn this crap fast enough. Whatever. I like buses.
On Wednesday (yesterday) my new HD arrived! 500 GB, Magnar picked it out for me (thank you, I would not be even 10% of the mac-freak I want to be, if it were not for you). Had it mailed right to my Kiwi, and now I will never have to worry about space again
Have not gotten around to putting anything on it yet, though. When I have time. Mayyybe on Satuday morning
Then, today, Thursday, doomesday. Big thick envelope from Carnegie Mellon University (CMU. )Torn at the edges from shipping around 70% of the world before arriving in my mailbox. OMG. Can't believe this. It looks thick. But that can't actually have accepted me. I guess its thin, and the thick ones are more like the size of my TOK- book maybe. But then look at the big tartan letters on the front of the envelope: This is the official FAT letter. So I opened the thing, and apparently they think I will contribute to their school. Oh poor misguided naíve admissions officers... Anyways, trying to decide on CMU or Oslo or mayyybe Trondheim now. Right now mailing some people in UiO to see whether a bachelors degree in Materials Science at CMU would be accepted as a starting point for a Masters in Materialer, Energi, og Nanoteknologi. I think if it is, there is actually a slight possibility I will spend the next 4 years in Pittsburgh. Just because now is my chance to do so... Carpe Diem, right...
Work tomorrow again
Fun on Satuday
Work again Sunday. Money Money Money
