My innermost secrets and my uttermost fears

Is this the 2nd or 3rd post titled Carnegie Mellon?

, , ,

Whichever, it is, it's not the last one.

So, last you heard, I was accepted, now I have decided to go. I feel quite crazy just leaving everything I love for something I don't know how will go at all. But the decision is made, the deposit is sent, and no there's no turning back.

The reasons I am going.
  • The people who work at the University of Oslo are convinced that CMU has a better education. And these people know what they are talking about.
  • When I have a chance to get out there and start over, and get something new and unknown out of the world, I really really should take that chance.
  • Even if it seems crazy, I'll probably make friends there
  • This, and the fact that I'll have tons of schoolwork, will ensure that I don't even have time to miss anyone.
  • And I'm sure i'll think of some other good reasons later.

So in moving to the US, there is a lot of things I have to do first:

Figure out who's gonna pay for my college education.
Get my drivers license. Otherwise all those lessons were in vain, apparently.
Apply for tilleggstipend from lånekassen.
Figure out what phone carrier and plan I want (to be able to call Norway super super cheap)
Figure out in what dorm I wanna live.
Get health insurance.
Clean my room so it wont be messy for 4 years straight.

And all other things related to surviving in the big bad Carnegie Mellon world smile

Now, on to happier things, Lisa and Marius and Håvard were over the other day and we baked muffins for international day at the kindergarden!
Lisa is the prime best muffin baker in the whole entire world, and her muffins taste EVEN BETTER than they look, is you can believe that!

Yumyumyum! Mom tends to get angry when we make a mess.
Can't wait to get out and have my own kitchen. Which will happen in about 4 years I guess.

Now with Lisa being a supreme baker, all I had to do was mess around with some sticky marzipan, some even more sticky marshmallows, and what do you know I have fondant! Then I add a bit of color to it, and cut it in different shapes, and we'e got soem international muffins!

Thank you Torbjørn for the source of that utterly amazing muffin recipe! YUM!

Now another interesting thing that's been going on around here is they have torn down part of the barn smile They meaning Dad and the Dan the pilgrim smile

There is a lot of tearing things down here lately. One day its there, the next its half gone and you wanna take a picture of it but its too dark, and then the next it's suddenly not there anymore.. Scary.

In the meantime before I take off leave my heart and soul behind in Norway, I'm gonna have some great fun in Malaysia smile smile smile

And first I'm going to Reno, where I think i'll catch the swine flu, but I hope not cause then I will not be able to go to Malaysia. So lets all keep our fingers crossed for so I don't catch that, (oh, and so I'll win 1st prize and get a $ 50 000 scholarship from Intel, which would absolutely come in handy right now!)

That's all for now!
