Apple 1984 ad

,

Cool ad, though less feel-goodish. Still some, though.

I have read the book 1984, so I understand almost a little of the symbolism here... Jippi! We absoliutely should read it in English! If she asks us to vote, vote George Orwell! Then we can understand the other half of the IB jokes and parody stories out there smile

Don't have the book right here, maybe I borrowed it from the library.. I hate when I need a book and It's at the library... grrr... that is why I like to BUY books. Anyway, it's about this .. hmmm. totalitarian society, big brother decides it all. There are these two people, rebels, they meet, fall in love, probably only because of their rebelishness, and they do all these illegal things like listen to musiv or talk bad about the governement and look at old books and stuff. She has ben a rebel much longer than him, and is way into all these "bod" things like human rights and caring and anti-governement and stuff, A lot like V for Vendetta, actually. She "wakes him up" and makes him realize how horrible this world is and how they must enjoy the simple thing like love and stuff. She wears bright clothes.

They are so totally different from the mainstream society, but they know they are right and society is wrong. then they get caught, arrested, tortured, ect. The police try to make them "Love Big Brother". They are seperated, so we don't know what happens to her, as the story is told through him. The last paragraph is the turning point, and I'm not really sure what happens, but it's not good.

The woman in the ad is her, and probably what happens to her in the novel is she surrenders and "loves Big Brother" or she gets killed. Apple is symbolized by her, she is trying to stop Big Brother and rebel, you can see the scary police people coming after her, but you also se she gets her message out, the blind people suddenly notice stuff. Therefore, 1984 will NOT be like "1984" because Apple, unlike the woman in the novel, WIL have an influence on society, will NOT surrender and join the big boss in the buisiness, and will NOT die.

That is how I think of it, at least. I haven't read the book in like 2 years at least, but I'm sure SOMETHING of what I've said is right.

the film is made in 1984. That's why it says 1984, The Apple started selling on jan. 24th, 1984. That is kinda essential. p

Magnar FHmagnarfh Thursday, June 7, 2007 9:22:01 PM

so, i'm guessing it was made in 1983 then:P
