How To Save A Life

,

I have NO IDEA why my mom hadn't told me this before, but I first heard it today:

My mom was like 24 or 25. It was the day she was going to start a first aid course, which she has signed up for months ago. She was bird watching on this trail by the SanFranciso Bay. It was like a 5 km long loop thing around this pond/lake thingy, which was used for getting salt, apparently, before. But now it was not used for salt anymore, so it was like a mud lake. With really dark peanut-butter-consistency mud, of which I will tell more later.

When mom is birdwatching, she sees every single little movement around her. Suddenly she saw something moving in the mud. So she looked through the binoculars, and she saw a nose and a pair of glasses! And so the slid on her tummy all the way out there, cause it was quicksandish consistency, so she couldn't walk. So she slid over there, and got over to the nose and asked it something, like what are you doing here or do you want me to help you up or something. But the person underneath the nose didn't answer, because he was like COLD, like freezing to death almost. Right next to him was a plastic comb lying on top of the mud. She reached down into the mud and grabbed the back of his pants (due to the high percentage of British-speaking readers I should mention it was the TROUSERS kind of pants) and pulled the guy right out of the mud.

And he was cold and wet so she put her trousers and her shirt on him, and then warmed him up, and then, they had to walk 3 km to the nearest place with people, and she was always talking to him and keeping him alert so he didn't like faint or something. And then they finally got to this tourist place I think it was. Anyway, like a warm place. So then she gave him her number and told him to call her when he got home all right. But he never called. And he never said thank you. Mom thinks he was trying to commit suicide. I mean, he left this comb right near where he was sinking. And he didn't say think you. So that is the story of how my mother Saved A Life.

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek!Scream

What has the comb got to do with anything?

He put the comb there so ppl would be able to find him when he was dead. so they could bury him. Or maybe everybody knew that the comb belonged to him 4 some reason. So if someone found it his family/friends/whatev. would know he was dead and not just missing.

Scary! And really weird! And heroic! If my story could become a soap, this one could become an action movie or something smile ´The comb´, ´comb raider´, ´People lying in mud´, ´Worst way of killing yourself´
