My innermost secrets and my uttermost fears

SO, was in western Norway for almost a week, with my family and my cousin Danny and his cousin Rachel. Came back three days ago. A few highlights: We went to Maihaugen, a museum of old houses in Lillehammer. We (the "kids") found an old house without stairs to the second floor, so we decided to go up. Going down was a bit harder. But we managed smile

We went to Dalsnibba, supposedly the greatest view in the world. Drove up and up and up a long steep windy dirt road up a mountainside, at each switchback everybody clutches their seat or the person sitting next to them, squeezes their eyes tight shut, and feel their inertia wanting to drag them out into this air. so they fall far far far and into the fjord way below. Then when we got close to the top, the weather decided it didn't like us very much, so it sent a cloud /some fog in our direction.
One of the most scary car rides I have ever been in.

The worlds greatest view

We visited a glacier! Two glaciers actually. First Briksdalsbreen, an arm of Jostedalsbreen, the biggest glacier in Continental Europe. We had a gorgeous hike up there, and walked past an amazing waterfall and lots of pretty flowers.

En liten smak av Norge

Glacier lakes have SUCH a pretty color and it makes an amazing background for pictures smile

Then Nigaardsbreen, also an arm of Jostedalsbreen. Here we got to go for a walk on it!

I did a lot of driving, probably up to 15 hours. A lot of the roads looked like this:

One of them looked like this sometimes, and it is the longest road tunnel in the world. Lærdalstunellen.

I was driving to the place the ferry was leaving from, not knowing at what time it was leaving, but we got there just in time, and got on the ferry. The second after we stopped the engine it was moving. Sometimes even I am lucky smile

On the way back home, one of us was feeling a bit carsick, so everybody frantically opened all the windows, I pulled over, and the door was opened really fast. What we had forgotten was that there was something wrong with the keep-the-door-open-mechanism, so the window can't be up when the door is opened. In our panic we kept forcing the door open, and the window shattered into a thousand tiny pieces of blue green glass. Woops. Since the next gas station (ducts tape and plastic) was like 40 km away, we had to fasten Dad's raincoat to the door and slam it shut, so the door kept it pinched around all edges except the bottom. I held it in so it wouldn't flap and bulge too much.
Then there was a heard of goats in the road, and we had to drive real slow to not to hit them, or the cars that were coming the other way.
Then we got home, and it was very nice to sleep in my own bed again smile

These are all of the awesome things that happened yesterday: I was following Danny to the airport, and guess who was in the Check-In Line! Yan! Only he had cut his hair so he was completely unrecognizable. I only recognized him after like 5 minutes. Creepy how you forget someone's face really. But it was nice talking to him again, after a whole year of not seeing him!

Then I went to Eplehuset in Oslo and asked for my battery back, they have been fixing it on and off for like a month now. Each time they give it back its broken and I take it back again. This time they gave me a new one smile smile smile Turns out they just forgot to send the message somehow. Anyway now I have a battery and my computer works again! It hasn't worked properly since the beginning of May! That is 3 months. Whew. But now it is DONE smile smile smile

Then I was going to go back to Lillestrøm, but decided to drop by the first perfume store I saw, and look for the perfume I have been trying to find for Marius for a long time (just about as long as my computer has been broken) and Marius has been looking for it for I don't know how long, years probably. And of course it had to be a 2004 limited edition, so the past years it has been IMPOSSIBLE to find it anywhere. But it was there, in Ethetique, in Oslo City. When I had gone all the way to San Francisco and to Kuala Lumpur just to find it! p Needless to say, I checked three times it was the right one, then hurried over to Marius, got him to take a lunch break, and we walked back to the store and stared at it smile So now, all thanks to me, Marius finally has that perfume he has wanted most of all almost for ever! Yay!

Then I went and had a driving lesson! Less than 3 weeks till my driving test, so I'd better be improving lighting speed. And what do you know! I got it all! I am suddenly a lot better than before, I checked roads from the right, I figured out when to go into all the roundabouts, I remembered to slow down for all the crosswalks, and I got the right speed limit on almost all the roads! Whoop de doodle dooo! I am starting to think I could actually do this smile

So that was all the awesomeness worth mentioning in my life right now smile

Up the mountainI want a purple box
