Wesleyan (life is great)

Went to Wesleyan today
It's... ehhh. well the big yellow book describes it as: Liberal, prestigious, personalized, top-notch academics, and having the most creative/intellectual/political/artistic student body in America
I wanna be a part of that
Look for stuff to comment on too!It has a road down the middle yes, but most of the buldings are far enough away from that (even though the Exley science center is right next to it but what the heck, nothing is 100% prefect). All the buldings at Wes are different, the only ones that are'n't directly beautiful are the Center for the Arts buldings, but they are quite cool anyways, they look like they are made og huge grey LEGO

There are 2700 undergrads, and only 200 grads, and they cooperate very much with the undergrads, who participate in lots of research projects, some even in their freshman year. The campus is very nice and grassy, and quite flat except for a single hill called Foss Hill, and it's a very nice hill, the only problem of sitting there is you may take a frisbee to the head but that's not very probable

I went for an interview a Senior named Jade interviewed me (she was really nice and has done lots of Chinese-English translating work, including in the Beijing
olympics!!!) She asked about me and what I've done and why I'm looking at Wesleyan and stuff. I think it went mostly well, the only thing I couldn't answer is the last question (tell me one little non-important thing about yourself). I ended up with I like trains, after half a minute of ummmming. But it went quite well in total. I managed to back into the story of the whole Unge Forskere thing, by starting out telling about what I did this summer, and I said Space Camp, and she asked why I applied to that, and I said I won it, etc. So that was great, and I hope I didn't seem very braggy. Though i probably did. But whatever. Maybe I am a bit braggy, and I'm supposed to be myself, after all, aren't I?
I visited an Molecular Dynamics lesson, and that was quite funny cause even though it's a class about mainly computer programming, the professor took like 20 minutes trying to fix the projector, because it was only showing 1/4th of the screen at the time. Then we switched to a Mac (professor was very reluctant to do so) Then he took like 5 minutes figuring out how to download a file to the desktop.
Then I grew tired of sitting there and not saying anything and not helping, so I went over and showed him how to right click. Though there were 2 mac users in that class (8 students in all, I think), and they didn't say anything at all! And, when I helped him he said, I'd definitely get into Wesleyan
Anyway, after like half an hour we finally got the ppts going, and I recognized these words: Dipole moment/forces, 104.9º, ∑F=Ma, Van Der Waals forces, London forces, negligible, integral, Coloumb force. That was about it... but it was an advanced course (mostly juniors I think), so I would have been amazed if I actually understood half of what he was saying.Wes is also totally left wing, and a full of goofy people like me
It gets lots of very interesting people to hold speeches
Se above
It has two huge libraries, one of them for science, one normal one. Plus a little art library as well. The cafeteria aint that awesome, and they don't have starbucks, but they DO have sushi
I have to watch out, I've eat sushi like every other day at least. Can't get bored with my second favourite food, nope.It IS really hard to get into, with a 27% selectivity rating last year, I think... But President Shapiro said that the sciences at Wes were undervalued on the market, so it should have been a lot harder to get in.
In conclusion: I like that place
I'm gonna apply there most certainly
I think it's beaten Columbia as my favorite (of the ones I've seen so far). Carnegie Mellon is still up there in my dreams... And I will see it on Sunday, to see for myself
Now, comment!
