Global Power

On the three meanings of power.
Power is derived from two sources:
1. Administrative specialisation and inequality.
2. Resources and materials for fuel and wealth.
These two points are actually two different meanings of the word power. In fact, so different that they are not the same word in many languages. The first meaning is people's power over people. The second meaning is basically electricity and fuel.
The first definition is the political power. It refers to governments, offices, boards etc. ruling over the society.
Political power usually coincides with economic power. Rulers are not happy with administrative specialisation and inequality alone, but always reinforce it with inequitable distribution of wealth and privileged access to and exploitation of natural resources.
Distribution of wealth is, in one word, economy. Natural resources are, in one word, ecology.
When people in power are selfish, all they think about is economy. They also think about ecology in economic terms - in terms of distribution and ownership of resources -, instead of in terms of ecological imperative.
Ecology is the base environment of the society and also the base material of economy. This is how ecology actually rules over the society and economy, not vice versa. Individuals in society may disagree, but any time economy tears down ecology, the civilisation vanishes. This proves the point of ecological imperative. This is the third meaning of power - the ultimate natural power.
