Mobile industry blaaaaah...

Wow, this is busy. Everybody really likes the stand, Opera reps and visitors alike. This show is out of this world, and I never seize CEASE to be baffled by the insane number of companies in the mobile industry who "provide integrated mobile solutions for seamless integration."
I'll be honest and say that I don't understand what half (and probably more) of these companies do. Except providing integrated mobile solutions, that is. And I'll be even more honest and say that I don't know what those are either.
Here's how a company may present itself (I made this up, but still...):
"We envision to proactively leverage existing high-quality benefits of current and legacy telecommunications infrastructures by providing seamless mobile integration and state-of-the-art software solutions."
If any of you ever catch me saying things like this, please come to Opera and beat me with a stick.
Otherwise, this is a hugely successful event for us. A lot of meetings and new contacts, and an incredible interest for our mobile products from companies and analysts.
Good times!

Well great. Now I have to come up with a new vision statement for my new company since I was planning on using that.

Eventually I was able to determine that they manufactured building supplies. How this was related to the academic organization, I couldn't tell you.

I couldnt even read this till the end, so boring.
and ill remember this: "If any of you ever catch me saying things like this, please come to Opera and beat me with a stick."

1. Blaaaaaah company profiling
2. Blonde Booth Babes
The second category is another phenomenon I find funny at these trade shows. I thought perhaps we had moved on from the times when using attractive women in mini skirts was thought a great way to get attention to products that are completely unrelated. Turns out I was wrong...

He-he.
But I agree, it comes across as an extremely tacky way of promoting a product (somehow car companies can still do it and get away with it).
