Espen André Øverdahl 12. November 2007, 16:23

Thank god the double line breaks will disappear on the next My Opera release.

Red 12. November 2007, 16:28

Those really annoy the crap outta me...:irked:

The Dark Furie 12. November 2007, 16:45

Oh hell yeah. Any idea if HTML will work in comments again? My group's crying. :frown:

fritter 12. November 2007, 17:10

Espen's first picture just looks like he was scared of the camera flash! He's got faster-than-light reactions times so when the flash went off, his eyes were shut before the photo was taken!

Wish I had a super power like that :frown:

The Dark Furie 12. November 2007, 17:16

I thought it was from a Tony Hawk game box at first.

theoddbod 12. November 2007, 21:39

This doesn't look like revenge to me :sherlock:.

Stomyr 12. November 2007, 22:23

The Dark Furie 12. November 2007, 22:32

I think the big Edit Post button over my post is a hint. :sherlock:

I'm going to wake up and find myself photoshopped onto gay animal porn and added to my own post.

Either that or I'll find myself added to the "Opera is down, go away for now" screen. Actually, how do you volunteer for that? It should be a competition prize someday.

Varish 13. November 2007, 03:07

Why is the "Edit post" button's image on the main image ?? Is this a hint to some one ? :sherlock:

Espen André Øverdahl 13. November 2007, 09:33

i get 25 items in my list and it takes almost an hour to open them 25 pages

Sounds like your computer is struggling — or our servers. It should not take that long, and there's nothing I can do to "fix" it, unfortunately.

Why is the "Edit post" button's image on the main image ?? Is this a hint to some one ?

Maybe. P:

The Dark Furie 13. November 2007, 11:56

:insane:

The Dark Furie 13. November 2007, 11:57

Sasha 14. November 2007, 11:56

I like the spirit in which you take this... and I love Furie's creativity!

The Dark Furie 14. November 2007, 11:58

That'll be the Opera. It feels good to know people are up for a laugh here.

Kimberly 15. November 2007, 02:36

The Dark Furie 17. November 2007, 01:14

Rhona Kirsten 21. November 2007, 13:51

Furie, does he really read blogs for a living?
I think I like it
(Ur blog that is)

Mao! Mao! Didi mao! 21. November 2007, 14:29

Rhona, Espen's the head moderator I think. (Or something to that effect.)

The Dark Furie 21. November 2007, 14:35

He does read them for a living. Poor guy has to put up with 18,000 people giving details of their cats lives every day. Not to mention having to read every single Pokemon battle post on here to make sure no-one uses a power they shouldn't have, and the fact that a lot of people on here TaLk LiKe ThIs has gotta be bad for his eyesight. It's awful

Varish 21. November 2007, 14:46

Yup Espen is the community Manger. And he does read all the blogs (I guess he does read all the blogs) BTW Espen why don't you write a blog on ur experience being Community Manager at My Opera & reading around 18,0000 blogs a day ?

The Dark Furie 21. November 2007, 14:58

Espen why don't you write a blog on ur experience being Community Manager at My Opera & reading around 18,0000 blogs a day?

Cause he'd go mad.

7am - Just about to start reading blogs for a living. But first the daily clean up of the site by banning everyone who joined last night and posted porn.

9am - Finally finished with the banning, and it's time to start reading blogs. Just for one day I hope no-one mentions their cats.

10am - Enough with the cats already. They're not even cute.

1pm - Wow, something interesting at last. Someone's celebrating their anniversary. They've been together for 15 years. Awww, ain't that sweet. They've spent every day together ever since she... "bought Mr Miggles" Oh, not another one!!!

7pm - Still reading about cats. I really hate cats now. Why does everyone on the internet have a damn cat?

10:15pm - Just had 89 friend requests from new members who joined, saw me on the frontpage and added me. I don't even get the luxury other members get of complaining about the friend request system publically and Fred just throws week old cabbages at me when I ask him to sort it out.

1:30am - Some guy put my picture on his blog with a badly edited song. I've got to pretend to think it's funny to keep up the community face but I'll be sobbing myself to sleep again. Why are they so mean?

Mao! Mao! Didi mao! 21. November 2007, 15:07

The Dark Furie 21. November 2007, 15:09

Ooo, I love the way the comment gets darker as it goes further down. Got to steal that effect. :D

Varish 21. November 2007, 15:18

The gradient effect in the comments is

fritter 21. November 2007, 15:29

It's an anti-drivel system. If your comment is too long it finally turns black and noone can read your insanely long comment!

It's to stop people falling asleep on My Opera.

The Dark Furie 21. November 2007, 15:39

It doesn't turn completely black, and it starts again once the effect goes on too long. Which would take a lot of comment. But still it's a really cool effect (just what I was looking for to set my comments aside, but still be subtle) and I've now stolen it. Well, figured out how he did it and made one myself anyway. I'm gonna have to experiment with some different colours next.

fritter 21. November 2007, 15:48

Pah, ruin my joke. Fine.

The Dark Furie 21. November 2007, 16:02

Fine. p: It turns completely black and cuts off your comment. I thought there was something wrong with my phone. I cried and cried as I tried to choose what to edit out of my comment. Happy now?

fritter 21. November 2007, 16:05

Excellent. I'm breaking you bit by bit! you will soon be under my control!

The Dark Furie 21. November 2007, 16:14

*realises the false sense of security is complete and fries Fritter with a lightning bolt*

fritter 21. November 2007, 16:18

*cough... splutter*

I'm getting a portable Faraday cage built. These divine lightning bolts are happening too often.

Espen André Øverdahl 21. November 2007, 16:27

Good god, I just logged on again after a meeting and saw that I had 14 new comments to this post.

And yes; I do read blogs for a living (among other things). It was just a title I thought was suitable for my blog as it's somewhat biased. I'm revealing my personal life on this space, even though I'm obliged to it (in many ways) work-wise.

The blog comment effect is just something I enjoy experimenting with. I enjoy customizing my own space on My Opera.

A work day for me is usually responding to a lot of internal feedback, questions and comments about My Opera — as well as moderating the site (content-wise). I enjoy my work, even though the thin boundary between work and personal life has completely evaporated. I try to run My Opera as it was my own personal site. Maybe I should write a post about how it is to be the editor of My Opera. It is fascinating and I meet a lot of cool people. I've even met many of them offline.

Mao! Mao! Didi mao! 21. November 2007, 16:30

That'd be interesting to read
