What if....?

I often think about this. I am pretty happy with my life, but what if I'd made different decisions along the way? Would I be here? Would I be happier? Would I be not as happy? Would I still be the same person?

We are a product of our decisions, and we can't change them. But it's quite interesting to think about how things could have been.

Furmeets, mad work and stuff

This blog is leaning dangerously towards being left idle again!

Let's see, what's been happening....main thing this week is that due to the Bank Holiday, it's been incredibly busy at work. Only today, I think I was sorting out four things at the same time. So glad to have a day off tomorrow, I shall spend it doing very little. Most probably tidying up.

And let's not forget this weekend's furmeet. It was my first Bournemouth meet, and all in all, not too bad. It almost went the wrong way when we went into the arcade, and nothing much seemed to happen, but we finally managed to group together enough people to go off for lunch, in two separate groups. One went off to Wagamama for rameny goodness, the rest of us went to a little sandwich shop on Post Office Road. They had nice milkshakes.

After a wander towards the gardens, we managed, somehow, to meet up with part of the other group near the aviary. This was followed by a walk to the beach, where a few people were already enjoying the sand. This quite quickly became an awesome game-with-no-particular-rule involving a Nerf Vortex ball-thing. I must say, this was rather awesome and the most fun I've had on the beach for quite some time.

Once we'd finally got bored/cold/buried enough people, we headed back to the gardens for a bit of a sit down and chat, complete with another ball, which was rather attracted to the stream. And then finally, to Borders - or rather the Starbucks inside - for a hot chocolate or coffee, depending on who you were.

So yes, a rather fun day indeed. Met a lot of new people, some cool, some interesting, some whose names I don't know. I hope that there will be more Bournemouth meets, and I may even organise some to complement the yearly Hantsfurs-organised Bournemouth Meet. Also, I hope to put some pictures up soon, but my phone is in the bedroom and I really cannot be bothered to go and get it.

All for now!

Blog...now with whoring on the web

Seems the people in Opera have now got new shiny things, which allow you lovely people to see what I'm blogging.

Enjoy

I've slightly screwed my top bar

Fear not, people. I'll get it sorted...eventually.

EDIT: Sorted, going back to default

End of story

So, the aforementioned trial is over. See here for details. Both guilty, and will be sentenced in September. Chances are it'll be several years in prison. Slightly annoyed at the fact that the parents are still defending Monks due to his having autism. I am sure autism is not an excuse for plotting to murder your parents...there are people in far worse positions who have not done that.

Anyway, this is a great time to forget all of that and move on with things. It's the 3rd August today, which means me and Dan have been together for 5 months...seems like longer. So I guess time to be erasing that particular mistake from my life, and embracing the new. It's a lovely day as well, what could be better?

Not going after all!

After a few weeks of preparing myself for having to go to court, with 20 minutes to spare before my departure, I was called to say I wouldn't be called as a witness after all. This is good news, all I have to do is await the outcome.

I have been reading articles about the case, and some of the things that have come out have disgusted me quite a bit. Take thisfor example (from Lancashire Evening Post). Not the nicest of people. I cannot believe I was so stupid as to be involved with him. What was I thinking...I hate myself for that.

Still, we move on. Onwards and upwards...or something

Doctor Who in Bournemouth Square

I have been down into Bournemouth town centre today as a mini-Doctor Who style event was going on. I thought my sister would love it (and Dan too), so we all headed down. It was pretty fun, all sorts of replica stuff from the show (and films), including a Dalek which started wandering about (see picture). Dan now has the claim to fame of being able to make a Dalek laugh. We also had a quick walk up to get some lunch at Marks & Spencer cafe, then down to the pier via the gardens. It was quite windy out, so the pier needed quite a lot of effort to contend with! It's still quite breezy, and probably raining too.

Also hilarity on the bus home, when a couple of lads noticed Dan's tail and rang up three different people on the phone to tell them :D

Imminent stuffs!

I've got a lot coming up. Firstly, I should get my shiny netbook in the next few days. I decided I no longer needed a 17" laptop, as we've plenty of other computing power. I've opted for a Dell Mini 10. Should be good.

Next week, I'm going up to Preston for Kyra's trial. Not looking forward to doing so, and it's making me quite edgy at the moment. I hate feeling like this.
