Some Sad News...

After a thankfully brief battle with lymphoma, early Tuesday morning my sweet, bossy kitty Tonka, peacefully and at home with those who loved her, passed from this mortal coil.A masterful trainer of humans, she leaves behind myself, our companion cat Clint and an assortment of friends and admirers.
Tonka's remains were transported to Wayside Waifs for cremation. Afterward, she will return home to continue watching over me and Clint with the disapproving glare of a bitter mother-in-law.
I encourage anyone who loves animals to make a charitable contribution to Wayside Waifs.
I would also like to express my deepest gratitude to my friend of many years Tracy, who provided invaluable knowledge and skill in helping keep Tonka comfortable and loved during her period of care. Tonka and I both benefited greatly from her comfort and caring nature.
Missy Tonka, you are loved and will be greatly missed by those who loved and were bullied by you.

Sorry to hear about your dog; those are always tough choices to have to make. Best thing to remember is you're ending any pain or suffering they're experiencing.

It's horrible when a furry friend has to leave us. It's sadly something those of us who love our furry friends have to go through at some time. We lost our cat Jasper at Xmas 2 years ago after 18 years of sharing our life. We will never forget him as you will never forget Tonka.
Rest in peace Tonka you were a bonny cat.

Thank you Luxor.
Yes, she won't be forgotten. Even as I walk around the house it is subtle but obvious that something is missing.
Sorry about your Jasper. Losing a loved pet is bad enough, but during the holidays is so much worse.
Eighteen years is a good long life for a cat. I'm sure you have lots of wonderful memories as I do with Tonka.

We sure do. There are times I wish he was still here as he might have taught Bailey how to behave.
Though I doubt Bailey would take any notice.
