The smell of gasoline in the summer heat

, ,

Saturdays like yesterday have a distinctive taste (and smell). The weather, the hour I got out, what I did, all reminded me of that taste, that I hadn't felt in a long time (good times!).

I'm frustrated because I wanted to go training and when I got there, the parking lot was closed and I lost a lot of time looking for a legal place to park, and when I found one, I had lost my will to work out. I'm also frustrated because all my CD-RW's are scratched and I haven't been able to use my new stereo properly. The good thing, though, is that the iPod runs ok!

I'm also frustrated because my mail hasn't arrived, there's something very important for me and I don't seem to be getting it at all! Damn!

So, I guess -since I'm not required- I'll go to bed again, tonight, I'll go driving. I'm really happy with my new car stereo, which I think will be very enjoyable for the whole community. The only problem I detect is that I think that we will quite often hear the phrase

Dónde esta el control?

On Tuesday I have to go to V2 to continue with the negotiatons of my re-hiring, so I hope everything goes ok.

Car audio

,

Finally, after almost a year of not having a nice stereo in my car, I bought one today. It's not the one I would have liked (you know, iPod ready and all) but it works pretty fine and has a lot of nice features like MP3 reading, a remote control and now the radio works, so I can plug in my iPod anyway

Rediscovering the Subway

For years and years I was a full time Subway user until I got my first car. After that, I rarely rode the sw unless it was absolutely necessary.

This week my car has been in the shop for some (not so) minor repairs and I won't pick it up until tomorrow, so, for the whole week I've been using the sw to go everywhere!

It's nice to see that you can be from point A to point B in less than an hour, but it's not so nice that in some stations, there is so many people that you can't even get into the wagon.

So from visiting Fedeslavia, to attening a job interview at V2, the subway is and will be t3h option!

But really, I HONESTLY WANT MY CAR BACK!!

Towed

I went out to eat with my mother today and the car wouldn't turn on. It's the first time Yoko has been towed but luckily, I was able to take it to a Nissan retailer where they received it. Now I won't have a car this weekend.

I don't see much problem, though, since the party at Federico's cousin was cancelled (in fact, I think it was a complete hoax) and there is a Flu outbreak in MX City, this will be a rather quiet weekend.

Thanks to everyone who sent a postcard! I started receiving some and will post about it when more arrive

Goodbye

,

This is a place holder, the actual post will come as soon as I know what really happened.

Unemployment

, ,

Well, I'm not really unemployed, since I still got Espolea's IT direction, eztigma.tk and my freelancing skills (which have provided me with enough money to get through the month and I got a very unexpected check from my former job.

My applicaton process (the one I needed a picture for) seems to be going smoothly and on Friday I'll have an interview after passing the phone screening. It seems like a good opportunity for me. I also have started school and Federico is starting in a couple of weeks too.

Today I got myself a jacket. I had been looking for that jacket for about 5 years (I'm not exaggerating) when I found it. And one of my blue headlights got burned, so I had to replace it with a common one, now my car looks like a siamese cat monkey

So, that's all in this quick update!

I believe in poetry, electricity, devil tails!

Manatito bought this for my car, I was looking for one for quite a while but here it is. Happy Halloween!

What if I drive? What if you walk?

For almost four years I drove a Shadow called Coco. It was the first car I actually got to enjoy. I had an old Renault 12 once, but it only lasted for about 3 months before they sold it. Coco was (is) really a nice car and it became part of the family, there's none of my friends who didn't take a ride with me and there are quite a few selected people that got dumped with me by it.

Yeah, I mean, my old car broke down quite regularly and we were towed several times. One week ago, after it was verified, I drove Coco to his final parking space before racing his fellow Shadows in December and then being driven to ACA, where he'll enjoy retirement with my dad.

Now, after a month of driving a new car, it's time to unveil it to the community. Simply called "2.0" (as in Coco v2.0), this Sentra is my new car. I has two key differences: it has a stick transmission, working instruments and four doors (a clean trunk doesn't count, just wait and see). To be honest, I had some problems getting used to it but know I feel much better so here it is.

Endless possibilites, so many trips to come, can't wait for all the adventures!

Hologram

,

Holography is a technique that allows the light scattered from an object to be recorded and later reconstructed so that it appears as if the object is in the same position relative to the recording medium as it was when recorded. The image changes as the position and orientation of the viewing system changes in exactly the same way as if the object were still present, thus making the recorded image (hologram) appear three dimensional.

Security holograms are very difficult to forge because they are replicated from a master hologram which requires expensive, specialized and technologically advanced equipment.

In MX City, a special hologram is given to every motorized vehicle that passes the Green vefification. Coco 1.0 is an old car that has a lot of trouble passing the verification and it always requires a lot of engine work. Today I payed for the last time, before Coco becomes beach-bound (it's going to live in Acapulco next December).

It is always very expensive, since bureaucratic operations in MX always require a lot of paperwork and of course, this time wasn't the exception: the license plates change caused more trouble and paperwork, so there went yet another 120 USDLL, spread between the government, verification centre and mechanics.

Luckily, this is the last time.

One wish

I wish I had one of these. We rented one at Cozumel and I simply fell in love with it.
