Robots for everyone

Ilse wanted a Robot for her b-day so, Bender included, here they are!!

Subway Card

,

About a couple of years ago, the MX City government started to sell rechargeable subway cards for people to avoid buying tickets. Each ticket cost 2 MXN and is worth for a travel, so every time you slide your card, 2 MXN are taken off your credit.

10 cent coins are a rather common MX currency, but each coin alone isn't good for much, so while trying to put my room in order, I found a lot of 10 and 20 cent coins, after counting them I got the fabulous amount of 20 MXN, since loose change is rather useless, I decided to give them to the subway people, who actually give you 10 cent coins as change given the chance!

Sadly, they didn't took my loose change and I had to change it at a bank while paying my credit card, but I ended up giving 20 MXN to my subway card, anyway

The summer's ending soon

, ,

It all began 3 weeks ago, with the swine flu and stuff I never really got it right when did the actual summer vacations begun. For me, they start today, for Fede, they ended last week (although he didn't know and we ended up in ACA) and for Munchies they end next week, Jovan is in permanent vacation and Manatito never has vacation.

Last night, after coming back from ACA, I was thinking of how funny it is to collect instants, to be in one place in the morning and to be in the same place next morning... after travelling 1,500 km back and forth! I can't help but to think on how our life will be in six months (since we seem to measure time in semesters) and today I just came back to come full circle with UAM-X.

I don't know what I'm going to do next, but we know Munchie has 3 years of school ahead, Fede and I need new jobs and Manato'll keep growing at the Airport. What will we be doing in six months?

¿Me imaginas manejando una camioneta vieja por la Quinta? Y qué querías que hiciera, si me encontré al dominicano bien dormido en el volante.

So, let's see how we close this summer.

The class of 99

This is a little homage to my classmates of the Class of 99 at Tepeyac. Don't forget to wear sunscreen guys!

A very special b-day present

,

I don't usually make a big fuzz about my birthday but this year I thought I might like a special gift, and you, dear reader can make it happen.

All you have to do is send me a postcard this week

If you want to help me get a lot of postcards for my b-day, you'll find the address to send it in the comic posted below (don't forget to write your MyOpera username on it!).

Come on guys! Make my day! :hat:

Easter trip

,

Acapulco... love it or hate it!

Research Assistant

,

There's still so much to learn. I don't have the academic level to be a full-time researcher, so for the meantime, I'm only an assistant. This is a process and as such, it takes some time. But so far, I've now got a cubicle and a set of keys, I even got a welcome phonecall last week and this week, a homecoming meal.

To make my job, I still have to learn some administrative protocols and then, I'll be able to implement some technology, so I'll be going to work more often this days.

Good times.

Goodbye

,

This is a place holder, the actual post will come as soon as I know what really happened.

Rebooting

,

Right now I was supposed to be flying back to MX City but everything changed. From the express trip to CUN to an extra time here at Playa. Little sister, I've been sleeping in the streets again and I've been drinking with my cousin and I'll be here next week as well.

Like Fede said: Welcome back to Playa, the trip starts all over again.

Yes, it's rebooting (coming from behind).

It's funny how things can turn out, and me, I still believe in paradise, but now I know that it's staring at me, right in front of my face.

Recycling

In MX we have a very poor culture about recycling, so when at work, we decided to finally go and sell the aluminum cans we had in store for almost a year and a half, it was a really exciting thing.

We filled a couple of cars with cans and got about 35 usdl back in cash, it's not too much, and probably the biggest earning was the free space we won with finally getting rid of them. This was the first "rebellious" action of our new coordinator (featured in the comic) and hopefully not the last.

I even got the chance to drive my car through the courts and into the school! Basically to the door of my building
