We spent the New Year in Herculane, even if we actually wanted to go to Tanzania. But... No tickets on the last minute, unfortunately.
But it was nice. We went in an adventure at the Corcoaia Gorges (aka "the keys of Corcoaia") and then at the Tasna Canyon. In the last adventure there are rumors saying that there was this bear chasing us or maybe a buck but no one actually saw anything. Just some noises. Might been a dog as well... who knows. We like to think it was a bear to have stories to tell to our grandchildren.
Beginning of December 2007 we've been to Moeciu for a quick teambuilding. Lots of snow, people, fun and ... drinks were there, and of course tonz of pictures. We've made a quick selection of those we also tend to appear in and droped'em here. Enjoy
Today, we got the car (same) and went out to see the largest Christmas tree in Europe. it's made by a new bank (Millennium) and Bucharest's mayor office and it's ... HUGE. At least 10 storys high, made out of steel (I guess) and with thousands of lights. Very nice fireworks too! Actually, so nice, close and big that Gina got a bit scared check it out...
This weekend, our friend Doru took us in his super 4x4 car to the mountains, deep in the Jiu river valley (where most of Romania's coal is extracted). We've spent a great weekend in a nice house on top of the Parang mountain, with GREAT view of the valley.
Also, we managed to enter a cavern, and walked its whole length (including through the underground river which got our boots full of water). Creepy but also nice, the cave is very interesting, especially when you have someone to tell you what everything is (Doru knows so many about caves).
Looking for a cafe with parking space in the heart of Bucharest, we ended up seeing the greatest stand-up comedy show we've ever seen. Tonz of laughs at cafe Deko with open mic evening. The place also hosts improvisation shows, every thursday. And we go there frequently.
