Thoughts of a sometime board games designer

Lambourne Games plug

,

Things I thought I would never see department: a mention of Lambourne Games on one of Britain's most popular web sites (The Grauniad's site). The following excerpt is from the afternoon session of the Grauniad's Over By Over commentary:

48th over: England 116-2 (Bell 31, Collingwood 41) Clark drops short and Bell pulls him for a couple; it's a really slow outfield - a 1A pitch, if anyone used to play that Lambourne Games cricket game as a young nerd - and there have been only nine fours all day. But this pair look nice and comfortable, and who cares if they are 207 for three at the close? "Rob, Rob, Rob, It may be that it's just that peculiar time in the morning, but it strikes me as seriously weird that you would describe Mr Clean Brett Lee as DEPRAVED," says Clare Davies. "Pot, kettle and black are words that spring to mind!"

I wonder if they do a mile by mile commentary on the Tour de France?

And of course they do:

try http://www.letour.fr/2006/TDF/LIVE/us/1200/depeches.html

which is still sat there. It's always a pleasant Summer desktop accompaniment and distracts me every few minutes, although watching the Peloton reel in a breakaway is a bit like that old sport of watching cricket on Ceefax.

Wow..>Lambourne Games International Cricket..I must dig it out.

I have all of them somewhere...Including the Speedway and the Downhill Skiing.

I used to like the formula 1 management game, the only 1 I was never that keen on was the Footy.

They've been doing something by something commentary on the Le Mans 24 heures. I'm hoping they'll do hand-by-hand commentary on the $10,000 Main Event at the World Series of Poker, if only by mixing other sites' hand-by-hand commentaries with e-mails from Le Naylor and La Davies.
