Things I thought I would never see department: a mention of Lambourne Games on one of Britain's most popular web sites (The Grauniad's site). The following excerpt is from the afternoon session of the Grauniad's Over By Over commentary:
48th over: England 116-2 (Bell 31, Collingwood 41) Clark drops short and Bell pulls him for a couple; it's a really slow outfield - a 1A pitch, if anyone used to play that Lambourne Games cricket game as a young nerd - and there have been only nine fours all day. But this pair look nice and comfortable, and who cares if they are 207 for three at the close? "Rob, Rob, Rob, It may be that it's just that peculiar time in the morning, but it strikes me as seriously weird that you would describe Mr Clean Brett Lee as DEPRAVED," says Clare Davies. I wonder if they do a mile by mile commentary on the Tour de France?
