Treading Water

Sorry. I actually do have all kinds of news, but I have been so sick this week, I haven't had the energy to come up with a substantial post. Today I seemed to be getting better, but now I have a wicked sinus pressure headache, and I live in the Land Without Tavist-D. Sigh.
So, this will be short and sweet.
As my disclaimer indicates I did land a job at Opera. I start next week. I am excited and very nervous as well, but good nervous. We haven't celebrated yet, because of the aforementioned cold. (Eating out is very expensive, so I want to hold off until I know I will enjoy it!) I got my friend J's old job, as she is leaving Opera to work for an e-learning company. T and I will be management peers in the same department.
We went to the children's hospital for H's cardiac appointment yesterday. It went every well, with us finally getting an answer for the cause of H's heart murmur. And the best news is that she will not need surgery. Such a relief! Tomorrow, I am taking her back to the hospital for her first dose of medication (it affects blood pressure, so they want to monitor her for a couple of hours). So H will get to skip at least a partial day of barnehage, which will make her happy, but not help our need to help her get over her recent bout of school anxiety. Poor thing is dealing with hearing Norwegian 8 hours a day, being with kids who can't speak any Englis, having less time per day with her parents, negotiating the potty (still working on it; MUCH improved, but accidents are still common), and she has lost her beloved nap. So, she has been under more than a little stress, but I think she will be fine. And as she accquires the language, it will get easier for her to negotiate the social aspects. (All but one teacher speaks English, so she can get translation services as needed, but they are working to help her learn Norwegian.)
Sorry, that is all I can manage now, and a florist just delivered flowers for T, which is odd, but nice. (Haven't unwrapped them yet, so haven't seen the card. T will be home very soon, and then we'll solve the mystery.)
Update: The flowers were from the moving company we used. Nice.
