DBA is working for some but not for all.
I communicate with guys all over the globe and have heard horror stories about DBA. Unfortunately, if you've been in the industry for any length of time, you either are collecting or know some one who is collecting.
Dealing with DBA in most cases means dealing with the company you were with when you got hit. The good companies continue to help guys not on the payroll, but most make it hard.
If you are going through issues either with DBA or with the company you were with when you got hit, you need to contact a DBA attorney. Yes, there are now law firms that deal solely with DBA claims. These law firms know the ins and outs of the DBA process and will make sure that you do not get screwed.
