Flaccid Penguin Here

The Flaccid Penguin has decided to reword this first article in an attempt to change the focus of this blog and to get more input from people.
I don't want this to be a company bashing blog which it had become after one operation by one company.
In the sidebar and on the links page, I've added a pre-deployment links section. There are some excellent links to website that will give you infomation you will need prior to deploying such as Visa/Passport, health warning, needed vaccines, and the CIA Factbook. If you have another usesful link, shoot it to me at FLACCIDPENGUIN@GMAIL.COM and it will be added.
This blog needs to be a resource for all the people out there in our industry trying to make a living by doing what we do.
There are very few PROS out there. Guys with the backgrounds and skill sets and who have worked in high threat environments.
Honestly there are also very few PRO companies. There are many good companies that have been around for a while but at the same time there seem to be many "fly by night" companies. All it takes is one look at a FEDBIZOPS solicitation for a security contract. The vendor list is always filled with names of companies that have either just been created or have been around servicing a completely different industry.
Security is not construction. Security is not IT. We all know that security is it's own entity. Many companies are trying to get these contracts just to make money. Good for them, bad for the guys who will be on the ground doing the security work. When you have people in the box, that is not the time to learn how to run a security operation.
If you visit this blog please contribute to it. If you have ideas for an article, have an article written, or want something pertaining to the industry researched, shoot me an email at:

Stay safe guys.
