Grow Island is a strategy game, similar to a basic version of The Sims. You start out on an island with no habitation at all and try to build it using any of 8 technological advances. Even though the instructions are in Japanese, the game 'Grow Island' itself is pretty easy to understand. All you have to do is select what advance you want to do first, second, and so on until all eight buttons have been pushed.As each one is selected, an appropriate action will be taken, and your results, as well as the society as a whole, will depend on which buttons you select at what time. Whether you end up with your society no better off, a booming metropolis in the 21st Century or somewhere in between all depends on the order the buttons are pressed. It will also tell you how well each one of your technological advances has evolved, on a scale ranging from Level 0 to Level Max. All this will happen in a span of about five minutes and you can reset the island after you're done and try it again.
Unfortunately, there is one darkside to the game: Even though there are over 40,000 possibilities for what can happen, there are only two ways to actually win the game. Fortunately, since you can play a game in five minutes, you can experiment with pushing the buttons in a different order just to see what would happen. In conclusion, it's worth a play to see what the good endings are. The secret ending is one you will absolutely enjoy. So give Grow Island a shot and evolve your culture. Who knows what will happen?
