Each stage of Infectonator! is a city, represented by a screen where various citizens are walking around. The player starts the mayhem by clicking on one citizen, or hopefully a group of several, to drop zombie virus on them. Those affected collapse, rise as zombies, and begin attacking other citizens, possibly converting them to zombies as well. Dead citizens drop money, which can be collected and used to buy more powerful zombies and special weapons between stages. Each stage has goals that must be achieved before all the zombies die, either from having their lifespans expire or being killed by soldiers or heroes. You can try a stage as many times as you want, but you cannot move on until you meet the goals.

The challenge of Infectonator! is that you have no control over your zombies once you create them, and zombies survive only a few seconds after being created, so you have to watch for the right conditions and drop the virus in just the right time and place for your undead minions to have a chance of achieving your goals. Don't let the game's simplistic graphics fool you -- once you start playing, you'll find it a surprisingly addictive and involving experience.
