And that's how Bush was elected. By explaining what he was going to do, and having a host of voters trample over themselves to insistently believe all the things Bush was saying was bound to happen. It's how several other presidents were elected, as well. It's how either party drives the political dialogue. It's how most States in the US drives their elections. By hammering in a predetermined goal into the political process so hard that the course you're on cannot help but being affected by whatever agenda it is. And that is what Bush has done on the world stage.
And the mess - who cares, hm, as long as the legacy is kept. "What we are doing is..".
