Ownership of local media?

Who cares, anyway?

WASHINGTON, Oct. 17 — The head of the Federal Communications Commission has circulated an ambitious plan to relax the decades-old media ownership rules, including repealing a rule that forbids a company to own both a newspaper and a television or radio station in the same city.



Does it matter who controls the media? Won't the best outlets survive, anyway? Or is it perhaps not the most exceptionally clever plan to start listening to the lobbyists of the biggest media- companies, when they signal their interests in buying up local papers?

lol. I mean, who can really tell if it'd become any worse! lol
