What about just a little bit of peril?

Georgia is invaded, and I quote: "This changes Everything".

"..a lot more perilous."
Oh yes, they are in terrible peril.
I mean, how are they supposed to be able to withdraw anytime soon, if they're not allowed by Uncle Sam to publically proclaim that they cannot win, because they're fighting determined fighters that leave the occupation force no other choice but to eradicate the entire population to declare victory?
I mean, they'll just look stupid if they declare their goals are met, and pull out without having gained some political coin in Georgia: the entire point with the democ.. the Operation was to increase the sphere of Influence from Moscow and outwards.
So how are they going to solve this? Wait until Georgia breaks down out of the sheer obstinate boredom of never actually losing?
Oh, I know - they could make sure it really blows up, so they would have to involve Nato, and get the US on board as well, in return for the mine- clearing monkeys. But last I heard, Bush was planning on calling it even for mentioning Georgia in a speech - twice. Although super- secret sources tells me the military advisors are having fits of euphoria, while often speaking in tongues, during the briefings about how the Red Threat is finally back.
In any case - good thing we're having a new American President soon, or the US would've had to call the whole thing off, right away. I mean, thank God for hope&newishness to allow the attention to slip from inauditable DOJ budgets, and GAO reports with red underlines on the frontpage. Seriously, praise the Mother fucking Lord!
