Wexler goes to Washington

The charges against Vice President Cheney are not personal. They go to the core of the actions of this Administration, and deserve consideration in a way the Clinton scandal never did. The American people understand this, and a majority support hearings...
Before I join the chant about how great it is for the democrats to finally show they have some sort of courage hidden away for a day they might need it - let's just be clear on one thing: they justify the impeachment with general references to "misdemeanors", and only then in reference to the Vice president.
Just let that sink in - it's not that Bush has led the country, and had a willing following - no, that's what they want. A strong leader to dictate the course. What's grounds for impeachment is when that leader, in spite of all the opportunities he's getting to cover up all possible loose threads, from burying papers, to stonewalling congressional investigations, or ensuring no possible paper- trail for the money appropriated for even the goddamned war - in spite of that, still manages to fuck up. In public.
That's the only thing, bastards. The constitution - pah - Constitution says we, Constitution says thee, who can really know what It says? So let's all join Wexler in impeaching Bush, sorry, not Bush, but Cheney - for failing to cover up his political hackjobs sufficiently, and then getting away with it in a politically acceptable fashion. Yay!
Now let's wait, oh, twenty seconds, before the first accusation comes up on how the Democrats are just making a spectacle for no reason other than to cut the legs off the Bush- presidency.
I mean, really, don't you just love how politics work in the New World? Makes me just so prideful to know we spawned this monster. And it has grown up *sniff, sniff*. Now they only need a holocaust and losing a world- war or two before things settle down, and things will be in perfect order.
