Well I gotta say - A lot of hard work paid off for Jon's birthday!
Friday night, he had a get together with his friends... We went to a little pub that plays live jazz and there is a singer too... The evening started off as any other evening, meeting and greeting everyone, going through all the pleasantries att he start of an evening... then comes the booze!!! Well let's just say that it was a great night and from a totally packed out pub with people spilling out of the door onto the pub surrounds (as it was a beautiful evening) Jon, his brother, his brothers gf and me were the last people to leave - at 2.30am. At midnight, the jazz singer said Happy Birthday to Jon and the whole pub sang to him - twas nice
Saturday was the day though. Having woken up only having 3 hours sleep, I was a little worried about how it would go.... htere were still a few things to sort out, most importantly, the cake! Jon and his bro went to the pub and G and I went to sort the cake out. We bought a plain cake and some coloured icing and bits and bobs and I put my artistic skills to work. I was pretty impressed to say the least! Excited more than I thought I would be, I took the cake to the restaurant and went to meet the boys.
Now what I haven't told you about Jon's dinner that evening, is that I was arranging a surprise for him. I invited his best mate and his gf and also his brother and G. We managed to keep the secret extremely well and when we got to the restaurant he was so unbelievably shocked. We had a wonderful night and he constantly kept saying 'thank you, thank you'. I gotta say, I was really really pleased with what I had done for his birthday this year. He seems really pleased too... As a nice gesture, I paid for half of the bill and the night was a roaring success. The cake was the best part of the night in my opinion. Jon didn't believe that I decorated it all by myself! He soon did though when I showed him all the icing tube! hee hee! He loved it and I think he felt really special! Well that was my intention anyway!
So that was my weekend really, today I took it easy as I haven't been very well through out all these celebrations! I have lost my voice and have a horrible chesty cough... and typically as usual, I have a sinus infection on top of all that but you guys know me... I'm a tough lil cookie!!!
So anyway, as I am totally knackered, I will bid you all a good night!
