Power Trips ruining Chatting experience

I have been an Opera user for a long time now and have tried my hardest to convert other people to Opera and the Community. Recently, I decided to extend this to the chat and try and convert new users using chat to sign up for My Opera and in the past few days I have converted about 5 people. Which isn't bad, some have even started blogging and uploading pics which is great.
However... I have 1 BIG problem. In these chat rooms, there are people called OPs. They are supposed to keep the room 'in check' and make sure it is running smoothly. In most rooms I have been in such as Trivia, Matrix, mels tea room etc, the ops are fine and I have a great time chatting to new people. Although there is one room, where a few of the OP's are on major power trips. It's not just my opinion eiter. I have spoken to many others who have, as they say "got used to it" which shouldn't be the case!!!
I am all for enforcing rules to people who are abusing the chat like 'cyber sex fiends' and spammers, but regular chatters, just trying to have fun is really not on! Today I pmed (private messaged) an OP as I couldn't get into one of the rooms... They then sent a message to te Maiin Room' teling me off, which wasn't just embarassing, but also upsetting. So I left the room and came back and asked a friend of mine to PM me as I wasn't chatting. Another OP then says something else that was untrue and unjust in front of the whole room again, making me look like a trouble maker. When in reality, I was discussing a new widget for Opera, which was why I wasn't chatting in the main room.
This is uncalled for and really puts peple off Opera. These OP'sneed to be made aware of the wider picture. Opera is a browser for computers, phones, devices and also is a community. They are putting people off these other products because of this. I have heard this from other chat members also and it looks like this has been going on for a while and as a result, a lot of people have gone elsewhere whit the thought in their head the the 'Opera Chat Community' is hostile! This needs to stop.
I nearly decided to stop my blog and other work for Opera once I was spoken to with such contempt, but I realise that would be a waste of hours upon hours of work. And hostile people in the Opera Community are a minority, so I won't spoil my enjoyment. However, my overall impression has now been dented and for this I am very unhappy.
