Safe and Sound

If there is one thing I find frustrating about shopping online, it's that whenever I'm looking for a product that I'm not familiar with or from a shop I haven't used before, I find myself bombarded with sponsored adverts. Even when searching through the major search engines, products get placed at the top of the list because someone has paid for them to be there. And not because they are the best result for me that the search engine could find.

And that often leaves me full of suspicion! Is it a scam? Could be. Might not be. I just don't know. And that's why I have come to value Shop Wiki so much. If I search for car seats or even more specialised products like convertible car seats, I know I will not only find a list of the best retailers, but loads of information to help me work out what the options are, what I should be looking for and how much I should be paying.

And let's be honest, whenever we are buying any baby products, we want to make sure we are buying something suitable and safe, because the main user of the product is after all going to be the most precious thing we have, and not something that could ever be replaced. Thank you Shop Wiki, for being the one big resource on the internet which is truly on my side!

Sony Dash

Now this is a fancy bit of tech if ever I saw a fancy bit of tech. My beside clock seems so bland, boring and pointless now. I want the weather, Pandora, Netflix, my email and more when I'm woken up in the morning. And at $199? Not bad at all Mr Sony!

Digging the Internet

The internet has really, truly and completely changed my life over the last decade. And I'm pretty sure I'm not the only person out there who this applies to. I do everything digitally and online these days. Shopping? Who needs the high street when you can choose from a bigger range of options and have it delivered to your door. Photography? Why wait for a film to be developed and sent to you when you can upload digital images to the net and share them straight away. There are a million ways it has made my life easier, cheaper, better.

And then there's all the information available. With all the time the internet has saved me, I've got lots of time spare to have fun or get myself educated on what's happening in the world. I've found a whole load of resources that I now consider invaluable, where I can dig up articles on almost anything I can think of. Business Articles, computer articles, health articles. You name it, someone has written something useful on it.

The Big Day

It's almost two years since I married my better half, and three years since we started the planning, the preparations and the long slog to the big day. It really was hard work. Really hard work! It seems an easy enough thing to organize when you start. But it just becomes more and more complicated and time consuming as you go along. One of my best friends is now planning for his wedding in a few months time, and I've offered to help. A glutton for punishment is what I am. Or so you might think. But actually I've learned plenty from my own experiences, and found all sorts of shortcuts.

Not shortcuts that are inferior to the 'hard way', mind you. Quite the opposite. There is plenty of help out there on the internet if you know where to look. I didn't know for my wedding. I do know now. There are one stop shops to get all the wedding accessories, invitations, stationery and plenty more sorted out. That takes a huge workload of my shoulders and the cost is really pretty reasonable. A bargain in fact, if you throw in the value of my peace of mind and sanity!

Go It Alone

The ability to produce and publish your ideas, your business details or anything else you want to broadcast to the world has never been easier than it is today. It wasn't so long ago that designing and coding a website was something of a challenge and time consuming enough to deter many people from trying. Or else they paid a fortune to get a professional do it for them. And then, once the website was ready to go, the cost of website hosting just didn't seem to offer value for money. How times have changed.

Nowadays a plethora of simple WYSIWYG (What You See IS What You Get) website making software options exist, making the production of a site quick and simple, even for beginners. And there's plenty of help available should you get stuck. Most hosting packages come with cPanel and this cPanel guide is a great introduction to what is a very powerful set of tools. Or perhaps you're looking for some top e-commerce tips.there are more hosting options than you'd ever believe. Of course, you'll want to check out a review site to find which option best suits you.

Insurgentesathon

Every year I try and get out and do something different, something that lets me take some great photos, and something I can use to raise money for charity. My favourite charity, WildCoast, which helps the Pacific coast of Mexico. Turtles in particular. This year I have launched a blog called Insurgentes for my challenege to walk the entire length of Insurgetes Mexico City. I'll also be detailing lots of information about Tours Mexico City as well, so if you're thinking of visiting the metropolis, this may interest you!
