A Lonely Life

I won't lie, I am by nature a solitary person. Far more a spectator than a participater. I like my own company and find people in general to be a little tiresome sometimes. That's not to say I'm entirely unsociable. Just that I enjoy spending more of my life alone that others do. Which is why I am so drawn to this house. On a rock. Perfect solitude. My dream home.

Painting By Touch

Stevie Wonder eat your heart out. This guy is far closer to Mozart than Motowns wonder man. Making music without the aid of sight is remarkable, but painting art is on another level altogether. Enjoy this video as Mr Armagan paints a new Volvo model having touched the motor. Admittedly, a few years ago, this would have been an easy enough feat. Anyone with a ruler and pencil could have replicated Volvo's brick cars. But since the Swedes came across the concept of curves, the task of blind painting one became much more difficult.

Free Will

It's a question we all ponder. Do we have free will, the option to choose our own destiny and make our own fate. Or are we nothing but pawns on an intergalactic chess board, with our thoughts and actions nothing more than the result of our genes and the outside stimuli they are exposed to?

Archos 9

I bought my first Archos back in 2004, and it served me well for several years. Till the battery died. It still served me well for a couple of years more till the cable split and burned too. Now it's in a drawer, waiting repairs. It may be there sometime. Some have suggested that my desk draws are nothing more than tech graveyards. They may be right.

But perhaps it doesn't need repairing. Perhaps what is needed here is a new Archos. I want something as cool as an iPhone and as portable as a netbook, but a kinda mic of the two. Enter the $500 Archos 9 tablet. Apple has one of their own on the way though, so maybe I ought to hold out. Although I gotta confess....I love Windows 7.

Pumpkin Pussy

It's nearly Halloween, and time for some seasonal fun. I've already bought, carved and displayed a traditional pumpkin of my own. That's because I don't have a cat with this sort of greed. Hope you all have a great Halloween season anyway!

Book Art

I read plenty. A book a week on average, sometimes two. And yep, I have a huge stash of books lining bookshelves, filling cupboards, spread across tables. Across multiple rooms. But what do you do with a book once you've read it? You can give them away to friends, or to charity shops or even try to sell them. But for me, every book I've read has been an adventure and I like to keep mementos of my adventures. Well here's a creative idea - turn your books into art.
